Hi there, fellow ambo's.
How many times can we be shafted? Ripped off pay wise, ripped off workload wise, under-staffed, over-worked, treated like shit in general by management, not looked after by the State Government, not to mention a piss-weak union.
A few of us have put together this site to allow real ambos to have their say, unfiltered by bosses, governments or union reps. You can have your say, too, in the comments. Join in; we really want to hear from you (even if you disagree with what we say). You can also contact us at realambo.gmail.com.

«Oldest ‹Older 2401 – 2600 of 5605 Newer› Newest»lets walk off and show them that we can unite.
Please.
Or it is over.
Hey Rick..... shame on you... i didnt know your wife was a super ?? well now that explains why you would recomend that we stick with a corrupt management owned union.
And as for you "angry HSU delegate... you want to know where you went wrong..? where all of you went wrong ???
You all started thinking you were too smart !! trying to be like cunning management and thinking you could negotiate your way over theres..., talk about everything... ! hey that guy brett Web even thinks that a degree in employee relations makes him a fucking winner.
Well here is a little lesson for you all from the school of hard knocks and a history of street justice that by the way, i have never seen fail.
" The school bully cannot be nogotiated with " GOT IT !!!! he does not care what is fair, what the law says or even what anyone else thinks .... he will continue to dominate and reek havoc unabated until the one and ONLY one thing happens !!!!
Are you ready
(( " P A I N " ))! thats right.... the only thing that is going to make these mutts sit up and listen is when we stand up and knock them on their arse !
O.K. now I am going to give you the ultimate way to inflict that pain..
NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON LEAVES A SINGLE HOSPITAL ANYWHERE IN THE STATE FOR 24 HOURS !
now... I hear you ask.. how do we organise that without the HSU !!!
Well wait up ... i didnt say there was only one bully did I ???
No.... there are two.. and the other is Michael Willaimson... now his whole life has been devoted to his own selfish political career.. SO .. its not easy to guess what his dreaded sorce of P A I N needs to be ! If we all resign from the HSU and make it very public !! that will sit him on his arse. So .. we need to set a date and give him the chance to organise a total ban on anyone leaving hospitals for 24 hours or we ALL leave.
I suggest a date for this could be as early as next week ???
ANY THOUGHTS !
Everyone will do as they always do.
and look after themselves.
End of story.
Game over.
Morris GONE
Reba GONE
Rescue GONE
Meals GONE
HSU GOING
Labour Party GOING
Rural Entitlements GOING
Co-Ord GOING
You are SO right 901pm post.
It is right that Bullies only identify with HUMILIATING PAIN.
I love your suggestions.
Embaracing Williamson with a publicised sacking is the best.
I have had some beers so fuck my spelling Shepard you righteous prick
Rik please allow me a wry smile at your expense in the doom and gloom Ambulance would rather us be party to.
" Quote from Rik.Personally I would learn English and Spelling before I commented on this site if I were you."
"Everything should be well thought out beforehand and yes even spelling has to be perfect,"
"How much money would you loose?"
(Should read How much would you lose?")
And yes I am FULLY aware that the coast is suffering from a severe lack of staff and ahs been for years
One question for Rik. That night way back when at Granville when you were a union man why did you get the shits when we decided against your advice to stay out on strike. I was just a young ambo then and had no idea what was going on but remember you getting the shits big time over it. People said at the time you had been promised a golden handshake of some kind to get us back to work.
Now that sounds like the Rik I know.
i know the delegates have a meeting on monday.
What I can't workout is that these delegates think they are such masterful tactitions, why did they not organise this meeting for friday night?
Now i know they are family men etc.....but this was the pinacle of nearly 4 years work.
It was D Day.
What the frig are they thinking.
Let us stew over it all weekend.
And this bullshit about excepting the 4% interim and how we would now be back dated to November!
I heard the HSU sell that to the delegates.
Morgan, you are a stuttering fucking boob.
Straight out of a laurel and hardy film.
Your not stupid, you pissed off to tassie.
You better answer some simple questions when you get bbbbbbaaaaackkkk fuckwit.
Gee – I dunno what the problem is with Rik. I agree with you others and let’s get stuck into the HSU and give it to that fucker Williamson. He did all this. He planned to give us a lousy pay and take away my meal penalties. What a cunt.
I agree that we should not take anyone out of hospital for 24 hours. That will show them who is boss. I bet when we do this they will throw money at us. Heaps of it and I reckon we should get at least another 6%. Rochford and Willis will get down on their knees and ask for forgiveness. Fuck ‘em I say even though the HSU is to blame.
Let’s just protest day after day for however long it takes to get it right. That’ll show ‘em. Now will someone tell me how we are going to organise this? I am thinking if we ring everyone in Sydney and the Central Coast and tell them this starts on Monday. Yeah let’s do that!!
I will ring my mates and you ring yours. Yeah that’ll work. When you have called them let me know on this blog. Maybe we should each use a code name instead of Anonymous. I get a bit confused when there is too many Anonymous. I can’t work out which one is you. What are we going to do about those who resigned from the HSU? Oh that’s right we don’t need the HSU. We can fight this for ourselves.
Now when I get into trouble you will stick up for me wont you? You better because I need my job. I have financial commitments. OK everyone are you ready? Oh sorry I haven’t been showing my emotions enough and swearing. Fuck you HSU cunts and you cock sucking delegates we will show you how it is done. We don’t need you ever!!!!!
Hey real dumb ambo.
Your not wrong you are a goose.
Get this.
You get in the shit
YOU PAY for a HSU chosen bumb lawyer.
I get in the shit I PAY for the Lawyer I chose.
So far I have over $500 up on any HSU member since I resigned.
Might not get me much but still $500 more than you.
To all the Anonymous,
Thank you all for your kind positive comments.
Very constuctive!
Definitely well reasoned arguements designed to get you what you deserve in this present crisis.
Rik Shepherd
Rik,
these people are not well reasoned.
Here they are bagging out what appears to be a hard working HSU delegate.
Here is a news flash people. The delegates are ambo's too, so they lose just like the rest of us.
I love all the conspiracy therories here, the HSU delegtes planned, because they were so smart to fuck themselves over.
the people responsible re ASNSW management.
Use the award to get them. YOU CAN NOW REFUSE TO DO REASONABLE AMOUTS OF O/T.
Read the fucking thing use the award against the likes of Rochford and Willis.
I dont know Rik but atleast he doesnt bag the fuck out of everyone for just having an opinion.
WE MUST UNITE!
Hi Rik,
I noticed that you placed a comment on this blog in the early hrs of today(2.13)am to be exact.
What, cant sleep because you to have rolled us with your spy work.
You may of been an Ambo some time ago,but you are not now,so stop bullshiting us,you are only concerned about about one person, your wife who is a superintendant in the west.
good on you Rik.Thanks for the wrong advice.
We MUST UNITE ????
We are united .... i have not spoken to a single ambo over the last six months who isnt united in their hatred of the corrupt and self serving HSU and their puppet leader Williamson.
Further more i have not spoken to a single ambo who is not prepared to go out on the grass if the HSU had the balls to stand up and lead them.
Further more i have not spoken to a single ambo who isnt prepared to consider litteraly ANY sort of sanction in order to get a fair deal.... SO STOP TELLING US TO UNITE... WE ARE JUST ABOUT AS UNITED AS YOU CAN GET... WE JUST WANT THE PRICKS WHO'S JOB IT IS TO REPRESENT US TO GET OFF THEIR ASS AND ORGANISE SOME ACTION FOR A CHANGE !!!
STOP PUTTING THE BLAME ON US !!!!
(Willaimson and his management buddies must be laughing his fucking socks off right now).
I dont think anyone is bagging out the delegates, but there are some who are there for their own advancment in the svc or politics.
some dont have a good record of past decisions.
you cant blame ambos for being suspicious of who they are to believe.. after Fridays events.
I dont blame ambos for being angry, swearing, abusive,on this blog, and to bully others,
they have only learnt this from managers and the CEO,HSU,so what do you expect.
If this goes on and people dont stand up for this wrong doing then they will eventually take away weekend penalitys, night shift pen,it has to stop as from tomorrow or they will just do as they please, history has shown this, thats why Howard lost,he to cocky.
The older ambos will have no choice but to put up with it.Its time to turn things around, you really do have the control. All the delegates can organise a stop work meeting.
you arrange it tomorrow, why do you people seem to think you need a union?
You are all leaders, thats why when you are on the road you make decisions on your own,do you have the HSU next to everytime you treat someone,,,,NO.
good luck, they cant sack every ambo in the state, the public would not allow it.Make tomorrow a new start for the future of your careers.
Yes we are more united than ever before.
this is propergander to brain wash us into thinking that we are not.
to put dought in our minds,to make us think we cant think for ourselves.
its gone on to long and ambos have lost their confidence inselves.
If you respect yourself enough you will stand tomorrow.
United? Come on guys you can't be serious? United in thought maybe, but not united in action. And as we all know actions speak louder than words.
So what are we really going to do?
Googs
why dont you all ask Mr Elliot in the Hunter how he new about the new award before Friday?
this divide thing that is going on its a joke.
these managers were once AOs on the road. how one forgets so quickly when reaching the dizzy heights of management and beyond.
But also let me remind you all that the delegates didnt know the outcome untill Friday evening. So I dont blame them yet,but come Monday if they stand there and do nothing,
look out because, we will all be after you then.
We put you in these positions because we thought you were all the best to do the job.
We are the members and dont forget it,what we want goes,no more talking,no more waiting,it has to start this week,or just bloody forget it.
How can they take our fucking or reduce our fucking meals when there has been no consultaion with the members. How can they (HSU) and the svc start this 8hrs after the report came out,I didnt fucken agree to this.
I have a right to disagree,if its not in the best interest for me.
Do we live under the rules of Nth Korea, well it bloody looks like it.
"your rights at work"
what fucking rights.
If these are meal pens are so lucrative as Rouchford says, then isnt the callouts and on call the same.
I find it hard to believe, its lucrative when you have to be called off your lunch break first to get.
I have a fucken right to have a fucking lunch break and if i dont i should be compensated for it.
Thats just fucking life, and it comes with the fucking job.
From the managers up,you can all go fuck yourselves, you people are the scum!
The meal breaks were about to come under the OH&S banner.
Many city based staff were not having anything to eat but were making money from LM and CO to supplement their miserly wages.
The bush ambos have it made with 4 hrs being paid from anything ranging from 1 min to over 240 mins.
At least this is a way of getting some descent pay for the city troops
What a terrible way to make money by starving yourself.
yep, we've got it made, on duty 24/7 then get a couple of days off, walking around like zombies because of 4-5hrs round trips in the middle of the night then having to back up to do it all again during daylight hours.
No social life, disrupted family lives, you've nailed it, we've got it made.
PEANUT!
The comment about the bush having it made was a bit harsh.
But if they divide us on this (which is what they want to do)
The bush will be next with their callouts. Then you will be walking around like a zombie with alot less money in your pocket.
I think you deserve the money you get in the bush, certainly isn't the lifestyle I could handle,
But if the bush doesn't support the Metro officers on this when the time comes to fight your injustices you will be on your own.
Unite now or seal your fate.
I wouldnt like to live in the bush either. But rouchford was the one who said it.(lucrative)
Its not easy working 24/7,but if you dont like it just remember that if you dont support your city folk now you may want to come back to the city and have alot less money.alot less.
so if you are considering on moving in the future you better support the city folk tomorrow.
dont think it wont happen to you in the bush, the governments seem to think that being an ambo is some sort of charity service!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a country ambo and it certainly has its draw backs. But we do work and pay dearly for the money.
It is tuff on fatigue, my family and social life.
I will do anything required of me to support the city guys.
I will even refuse to do on call/ overtime or whatever if that is what it takes to get your meals
back.
My peers also think the same.
YOU HAVE OUR SUPPORT.

Bush ambos have it made.
They can call in late for work when they have made too many call outs during the night - fatigue policy. What a joke that is.
Called off a case from home?
No worries that 2 miunutes will still snag you a full 240 minutes at Sunbday rates. Try and get that sort of money at Parramatta or Paddo.
Want to be a pretend paramedic?
Just go to the bush and whinge and whine until you get what you want - a pretend badge for a HOAX paramedic.
You bushies give me the shits - you get it all handed to you and you still whinge.
Come to Parramatta and do a few night shifts and see how you go.
BLUDGERS...!
I think there may be a few port holes puckering tommorrow.
QUESTION
The President of the HSU (Ambulance) Pollard, just recievd nearly 30% payrise like all the AOM's.
Do you think he is going to try and talk it down tommorrow?
I am also a country guy and let me tell you we don't get nearly enough for what we have to put up with. Untilyoulive and work in a small town you will have no idea. I have worked both city for many years and country. We are married to the svc 24/7 including days off. Everbody knows who we are and expects us to be avaliable to them at their beck and call. We can't just say we are on a day off we have to smile and pretend to be interested that we took their grandmother to hospital 6 years ago and that she is doing well apart from now being incontinent of faeces but they are working on it. Being called out from home not only affects us but our families suffer too. They hear the phone calls and us trying to shut the controller up when he wants to have a chat at 4am.They wake the whole household up. I thought nightshifts were bad when I worked them but try working for 7 days and being on call for 7 nights and on that 7th day watching the sun come up yet again knowing you have to be showered and try and sqeeze a feed in before they ring you again for yet another job which may not even be in your area and then be ready to turn up for your normal shift and be expected to be fresh and friendly to our customers! because that is what they are now. If they have a -problem with us earning money for being called out of our own bed there is an easy solution. Stop ringing me and out on more staff. Some nights I don't turn a wheel. A double crew sitting around for 12 hours in any small country town might be the solution!!! Look there is NO talk of us not supporting you guys. We are all as disgusted at all of this as the rest of you. We are still the one service and talking to the delegates today here we are ready to support whatever it is we decide to do.I have never in my life heard of a pay rise that gives people less money. I say it is time to do whatever it takes with or without the union.
Good work Parramatta Paramedic,
Do you think your the biz cause you run lights and sirens to a back pain?
Rick you didn't answer the question as to why you had the shits that night at Granville. I am not having a go at you i just want to know why.
Good to hear Country Ambo's.
We appreciate your support.
And rest assured you will get ours when the time comes.
If the service see us unite over this they will shit and will not dare to mess with your allowances and penalties.
No action on our part tommorrow though means the end for you guys in the very near future.
This is a test from the service as much as it is a test for us.
Don't let them win again.
If they mess with our callouts then they won't have any ambulances on call at all. That I can guarantee you. To the 5 minute wonder at Parramatta you have just done all your hard working co workers a disfavour there pal. We know you guys work hard most of us in the country have been there done that and got out for that reason. You can too if you want. There are plenty of people who would swap with you. You might work hard on those nightshifts but at least you can go home after 2 of them and turn your phone off. We walk around with our phones on us 24/7. First thing i do after the completion of my 7 days is turn it off and shut my gate to keep people away. Country ambo work has made me antisocial to everyone.
Poor lost Souls
This is not the time to be angry at your Union.
You must work with them within the constraints of our more then fair Industrial processes.
I know your angry at the moment but a meatpin in the hand is worth two in the bush.
The AOM's got nearly 30% pay increase but you know deep down they deserve it, especially up the Central Coast where they only work till 2300 hours.
I say give your AOM a hug, they will help you through this.
Be Smart.
P.A.P
Listen hear you parramatta Fuck.
I have worked at parra, the SAC and two other sydney stations.
I now work at the busiest rural station outside newcastle, sydney and wollongong.
We average 12 jobs a night shift. and they are actually sick people. Not like the shit I KNOW you get at parramatta.
So stop causind disunity.
Appreciate the support I WILL and other country anbos's give you.
and harden the fuck up.
WE WILL support you dispite your anger being directed at the wrong people.
"Oh, I can't do that long distance 'cause I am tired and you wouldn't want me to hit a tree and go on W/C now would you?
"BUT, I'll do on call, again tonight just to to help you out" is the whingeing bush wankers mantra.
What a fucking joke you lot of bushies are.
You get paid too bloody much. Most of wahes our budget goes to you guys in dispraportionate sums.
One bush ambo earns THREE times as a city ambo for a quarter of the work.
I wish I could be at home watching the football with my family, burn the bosses fuel and get paid FOUR fucking hours for a few minutes work.
As for lights and sirens to back pains...It could be an aneurism that you are going to, dickhead.
Learn your pathophysiology, but then again, you are a HOAX paramedic.
Oh, and don't forget to call for assistance with that SNR or refused transport - take care of your work mates pal 'cause I will do the same for you.
I go to the Central Coast for a holiday - you go to fucking Europe.
I drive an old Commodore - you drive a fucking new LandCruiser 200 Fully optioned.
Besides, who says that I am a Parramatta frog anyways?
Get real and learn that the city ambos are the ones that do the hard yards.
stop winding up all your fellows ambo's.
well move to the country fuckhead if you think they have it so good.
It sounds like your the idiot.
and Im a city ambo.
Mark...I am just telling the truth. Listen and sharpen up.
People won't stand up to bush ambos 'cause they might offend them.
Well, I reckon FUCK them...!
It takes me an hour to get to my station and then when I get there, I don't know where in Sydney I will end up, where to buy a descent meal and what time I will get back to sign off and then have an hours drive to go home.
I had a acr accidcent when I went up the arse of a car when I fell asleep at the wheel doing what ALL ambos do in Sydney at sometime.
Bushies have it easy and have the temerity to have an EQUAL HSU vote to mine.
What a fucking joke that is.
Rochford and his hoons will [thankfully] start to wind back their call outs and fat aresd couch potato culture.
They even want PTO's [God love them] because they reckon they are overworked.
Bludgers.
In tenold Award I used to get paid by the minute for my miserable call off and late meals [which I have since lost.
The bush bludgers should also get paid by the minute for tne work they do too.
Equality amongst the brothers and sisters equality.
Bushies refused to have ot first responders to drive their cars and insist on calling each other out on their days off for bullshit not needed assistance.
Look at their time sheets.
Call Outs On Days off.
Mates taking care of mates.
Its a corrupt workplace culture that needs to be addressed.
Come on Mr Willis - do something about all of this corrupt "me take care of you and you take care of me" bush workplace.
"Proud to be a city ambo - cause I work for a fucking living."
I will keep an eye out for your clapped out commodore next time your on holidays.
We don't want fuckwits like that up here.
We are united
To the hard working parra ambo. I have an ambulance in my driveway tonight and tonight is my SEVENTH night in a row it has been there with SEVEN day shifts in between. What have you been doing for the last 7 days. Oh yeah working 2 days and 2 nights and had 4 off that's right I remember. The service pays us 65 cents clear per hour to be on call. The alternative is to put in hundreds more ambo's. Call outs are cheaper to them. We don't make anywhere near the money you think we do. Europe for a holiday I wish. Matter of fact I can't even afford to go to the Central Coast for a holiday. You are very lucky to even have a job by the sound of you and I pity your workmates. You need to go find aomewhere else to get your jollies. Maybe join the cops. You sound like you would make a good one. United we stand divided we fall.
Heya Coastie,
Can't take the truth, eh?
Your crook call out with your crook mates are already numbered, brother.
"Proud to be a city ambo 'cause I work for a living."
To the city ambo,
No matter what people say to you, you will always feel you are hard done by.
I might suggest you have a victim complex.
Predujice (spelling) doesnt see reason.
I dont debate with fools.
If you have it so bad "LEAVE"
You just confirmed your status as a fuckwit city boy.
Your asking Willis for help!
You are fucked in the head, you angry, angry young man.
City boy you are embarressing yourself and the rest of us in sydney. We need these guys support.
Pull your head in.
fuck off then. I work hard in the east.but i dont begrudge others without knowing what they go through
good luck to our country ambo's.
Thanks for your support we need it.
Your suggestions are noted city ambo.
I think you and I should get together and learn how I can fuck you over more.
You FUCKING IDIOT!
I am a good hard working ambo - DON'T tell me otherwise.
I work my arse off and am well liked in my station.
It just SHITS me when you lot in the scrub actually think that may have a problem with a little bit of work.
Seven nights on call - big deal - how many beers did you have tonight?
You lot should be alcohol and drug tested just like truckies and cops - as for me bring it on.
We all know that half of you are pissed on jobs anyway.
I can't afford beers 'cause I spend most of my money feeding my wife, three young kids, fueling my old bomb and paying for a mortgage that would frighten Jamie Packer.
You aren't doing ANYTHING at home on call other than watching the TV and your family.
You don't know how lucky you really are.
As for me, it takes me a full day to get over my two very long days and two very long night shifts - yes they are that hard on me and my hard working and UNDERPAID workmates.
Then on my last day off I have to psych myself into accepting that I will have to travel all that way just to get to work with my great hard working mates.
Why did you leave the city?
Its cause you can't stand the conditions and the shit pay that we have to put up with.
You have had your noses in the trough for far too long.
Go Rochford go...!
He took to our Award with a blunt michette and I hope that he does the same to yours.
Fuck you.
"Proud to be a city ambo - cause I work for a fucking living."
You have lost the plot.
and have no creditbility
you sound like the sort of dumb fuck who has your arse in too much debt.
I work in sydney and dickheads like you shit me.
Poor Poor you.
I reckon you probably beat your wife.
Popular are you? I bet your fucking not.
You have no idea, you are angry at the wrong people.
I bet you dont like when people disagree with you, do you?
Does your family have bruises, and walk on egg shells because you have it SO TOUGH?
Move to the country if you think it s so great there.
COCKHEAD?
to the country ambo's this fuckwit is an exception to the rule.
There appears to be a pattern here.
Alot of people with the same reasonable opinion.
and one obviously mentally challanged idiot.
We have the right to life hords to blame for this one not getting drowned at birth.
Hey, hows about we leave the underapid and overworked city ambo bloke alone and just listen to his gripes?
It seems that you bushies are too far too quick to criticize and jump to simple conclusions to complex problems.
So what if he disagrees with you and points out valid arguments over bushies being overpaid, underworked, pissed, incompetent, jealous, psychpathic, pissed, neurotic, turf protecting, crack pots, who in reality, are over reacting to justifiable criticism about crook behaviours that are breaking the ASNSW's financial resources?
Leave him alone.
You have a point but he is doing what you are accusing the country ambo's of.
He is directing his shit at the wrong people.
I work hard in the city and he will only alienate our country support base.
He needs to calm down.
Matter of fact!
Call off meals cost the ASNSW more than call outs.
That is a fact!
Give it up all of you.
It is just someone trying to get a rise.
Rochford and Wilis are to blame for all of this.
Noone else.
Lets get these fuckers!
P.S. we are all the same, just different places.
yep just what I thought.
a blogg full of piss and wind.
nothing changes
How can the bushies vote on an aspect of the Award that does not affect them?
I think the Parramatta ambo (or wherever he is from) has a mute point about all of this.
In reality, we need a fair Award for the bush and one for the city that reflects work loads and special considerations.
He may be overly insistant on his views, but is clearly upset and seems to have a valid argument. We tend to forget he has the right to express it even if we don't agree with him.
That's what this Blogg site was establsihed for.
The bushies wouldn't and probably couldn't live on an "on call free" pay packet. Then why, may I ask are the city ambos expected to live without such a generous Award and limited access to overtime?
To accuse him of wife bashing and domestic violence just isn't fair.
Perhaps he has a point about you country ambos being overly sensitive, overpaid and underworked?
If its so hard in the bush, then why not come back to the city where you won't have to deal with seven nights of on call.
You won't have to do any on call here and besides, you will have a 4 x 4 to work instead.
Re: "Proud to be a city ambo - cause I work for a fucking living."
You really are a dickhead.
I worked in the city for 8yrs at busy stn's. I too thought that the country ambos had it easy until I moved to the country....wrong!
Just try working in the country before you start sledging your colleagues.
It must be nice for you to finish a hard days work and then go home every night and relax... pity the country ambos can't. As said by someone previously, the service has us 24/7.
At the end of your shift, I'd like to see you work another job and finish about 0300 then start again at 0800. Bet you wouldn't do it.
Oh, and by the way how about you do the second job for half (or even less) the pay....that is what you want the country ambos to do. You need to think before you speak dickhead.
My average working week (actual time worked, not how many hours paid due to 4hr call-outs) is approx 60 plus hrs. Many other country ambos are in the same boat.
Doing on-call is equivalent to working a second job... that's why we are paid accordingly.
Whats that I hear you say, "but I work overtime every day". Even if you did 2 hours extension of shift at the end of every shift that would still leave you way short.... POOR FUCKING YOU.
All the country ambos I have spoken to are livid with the decision handed down by the IRC. We will all stand united for the greater good of our colleagues....pity the same cannot be said for you!
Give it up. You really are embarrassing all your city colleagues.
Rochford's anger management classes;
Managing Anger: What Can I Do About Managing My Anger?
There are three steps to anger management:
Understand the pay-offs and the triggers;
Learn to calm yourself down in crisis situations;
Learn strategies to prevent anger arising in future.
1. Understanding the pay-offs and the triggers
Undoubtedly you will get some short-term benefits from your anger. Most of these can be gained more effectively by other means such as assertion.
However, in the short-term you may have to experience some discomfort as you lose some of the immediate gains of anger such as-
I feel so much better afterwards.
It makes people listen.
I feel more like myself when I am angry .
If I didn't get angry about things I'd just cry all the time.
When I show my anger then people know where they stand and that's good.
Anger stops me being afraid.
If I don't show my anger then people will think I am a wimp.
Probably even as you read this you will begin to see that some of these things can be achieved by other more healthy means.
Now decide what particular situations trigger your anger so that you can practice staying calm when they next arise.
2. Calming yourself down in crisis situations
The appropriate response depends on the situation - e.g. whether you get angry when alone or when in dispute with another.
Substitute activities:
Describe the room to yourself around you in purely neutral terms.
Look at things, not people.
Think of things you have to do today.
Count to 10 (it does work!).
Avoidance
Repeat what the other person has said and ask for time to consider.
Leave if you think you might otherwise lose your temper or be violent.
Change brain rhythms
Play music to yourself and listen closely; if you don't have access to music, listen to it inside your head.
Take exercise of some form.
Relaxation
Alter your breathing, holding each breath for 5 seconds.
Tense and relax muscles; tensing each in turn, holding for 5 seconds then releasing.
Massage yourself particularly on your stomach and chest.
Change postures and roll shoulders.
Imagery
Imagine a relaxing scene.
Imagine laughing at yourself and the situation later.
Imagine neutral scenes, especially ones with people in them.
3. Learning Strategies to prevent Anger arising in the Future
Decide whether your anger is healthy or unhealthy (see above).
Avoid stimulants such as alcohol or other drugs if you are working on a long term solution.
Read about the subject.
Ask others who get less angry than you how they do it and try their ideas.
Develop a generally more relaxed lifestyle and try to manage stress better.
Challenge your angry thoughts.
Beware of disguised anger such as in sarcasm or cruel jokes.
Learn to assert yourself, maybe even go on an Assertion Skills course.
Consider the past origins of your anger.
Share your concern with a Counsellor.
Seek out specific Therapy for Anger with referral to a Clinical Psychologist or Psychotherapist who targets this trouble.
We all need this...Its no joke. Plesae, learn to be kind to one another.
EVERYONE !
STAY FOCUSED ...................
tomorrow we need to achieve two things by the end of the day.
(1) we need to leave no doubt in the minds of Michael Williamson and the HSU of what will happen if they do not stand up for us and back us with some serious and immediate action until this situation gets resolved.
(2) we need to send a strong and united message to management that this outcome is totally unaceptable and that if they do not modify the offer significantly then we will take action " with or without the HSU !! " that will have serious ramifications.
I am going to give the HSU 24 hours to set up and implement this and if they dont, I'M GONE. Because then i will know that what everyone is saying about them working together is TRUE !.
You have one last chance HSU.... """ACTION Tommorrow""" ... or i am gone and never coming back ... and i can bet you i will not be the only one !!!

Anger Management for Everyone
Possible Concerns For People With Learning Disabilities
and/or Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder
· Anger and frustration about the impact your LD/AD(H)D has on your life – “It’s not fair”. (Why do I have to struggle when other people lives seem so much easier?).
· Resentment towards others (non-LD/ADHD) who have seemingly easier lives.
· Anger directed at one’s self for failing to meet your own or other people expectations.
· Blaming others (e.g. parents, teachers, social workers, etc.) for not providing you with the support you need(ed) or failure to recognize the problem in the first place.
· Frustration with academic performance such as poor reading comprehension, poor concentration, poor memory, or slow work completion rate.
· Anger and frustration about the lack of understanding of LD/ADHD in the family, workplace, educational institution, and general public.
· Frustration caused by lack of services (e.g. assessment, counseling, and job training services)
· Anger about being incorrectly judged, diagnosed or labeled.
· Anger about being abused, bullied or taken advantage of because of LD/ADHD related social/emotional issues.
· Social Frustrations: Difficulty noticing or understanding humour, sarcasm, and non-verbal communication (e.g. body language).
· Lack of tolerance for your LD/AD(HD related difficulties.
Coping Strategies
· Accept your LD/AD(H)D – Work through the acceptance process by using the Acceptance module
· Redefine your goals and recognize unrealistic expectations
· Practice forgiveness
· Develop strategies to make learning easier (e.g. mnemonics for memorization, etc.)
· Don’t beat yourself up over every LD/ADHD related problem you encounter – REMEMBER IT IS A DISABILITY!
· Share difficult experiences and your feelings with someone you trust who is a good listener such a family member, relative, friend, or therapist.
· Contact VIDA (250-478-4554) or your local Learning Disabilities Association to find out about services available to you or take the Finding Your Way workshop to learn about services available in your community.
· Develop an awareness campaign to educate people about learning disabilities and Attention Deficit Disorder. Use your LD/AD(H)D to educate people if you feel comfortable.
· Develop your self-advocacy skills to get the support and accommodations you need.
· Learn new social skills and practice them regularly.
· Reduce your chances of being re-victimized - not not trust everyone you come into contact with immediately. Keep private information to yourself until the person has earned your trust

Mini Anger FAQ
What is anger?
“Anger is __________________”
a) Normal
b) An emotion experienced by everyone
c) A powerful feeling but one you can learn to manage with practice.
d) Not the same thing as aggression, which is a behavior (such as hitting someone) that may result if you can’t bring your anger under control
e) Neither positive nor negative nor right nor wrong to feel
f) All the Above
If you answered “f) All of the Above”, you are correct.
So what is anger?
Simply put, anger is an emotion. In fact, anger is just an emotion - it is neither right nor wrong to feel it. Anger only becomes a problem for people when it is repressed. Unresolved anger can lead to serious physical and mental health problems such as heart disease, stroke, depression and anxiety.
What is the purpose of Anger?
The purpose of anger is to alert us to danger and in doing so produce the flight or fight response. In other words, anger is meant to protect us from harm. All of the physical effects you experience when you are angry are there to tell you that something is wrong. It can motivate us to make positive changes in our community or advocate for others. For example, Martin Luther King was motivated by outrage over racial prejudice (some of which he experienced first hand) to start a civil rights movement in America. With this in mind, you can see that anger, in and of itself, is not negative.
It is, however, a complex emotion. Anger is usually considered a secondary emotion. When we get behind our anger, we discover that there is always a primary emotion such as fear, sadness or frustration at root of it. Understanding the emotions behind the anger is one way of expressing anger appropriately, but we will discuss this later.
Where does anger come from?
Anger is usually caused by some kind of perceived or actual injustice, selfish or thoughtless act, hurtful remark, etc. But this is not where anger comes from. Anger comes from inside of you. It is a natural response to dissatisfaction with your environment.
Types of Anger
According to John Lee, writer of Facing the Fire – Experiencing and Expressing Anger Appropriately , there are basically two main types of anger – Present Anger and Suppressed Anger.
Present Anger
This type of anger is caused by immediate circumstances such as somebody cutting you off while driving, the frustration you experience after missing your plane, or being forced to deal with someone who is being verbally aggressive. The emotional response is in proportion to what has happened. This anger is only a problem as long as the circumstances persist. Once the circumstance passes the anger subsides quickly and everyone is able to go on with his or her life as normal.
Suppressed Anger
This type of anger is destructive. It is left over anger from experiences that we were either unable or refused to deal with at the time. We often express this type of anger inappropriately. Present day events remind us of the experience or some aspects of it which brings back our old feelings of anger. Unfortunately, because this anger is not based in the present and has been allowed to build up over a period of time (sometimes for years) our emotional responses will not likely to be in proportion to the triggering event. As a result, we might overreact or take our anger out on somebody who had nothing to do with the original anger-producing event or trigger. This anger is misplaced. It usually continues to trouble us long after the reminder has passed. You might obsess over it or become extremely depressed by it.
Why do people suppress anger?
As we grow up, we learn about anger and how to respond to it. Some people learn that anger is bad. In their minds, anger is directly associated with pain or violence and therefore must be avoided. They don’t understand that anger, in and of itself, cannot cause someone to act violently. Violence is a conscious choice. Only you can decide to hurt someone else – not your anger!
Suppressed anger can often be traced back to some type of trauma that we have experienced in our lives such as emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. Bullying during childhood is another form of trauma that often contains suppressed anger. Victims of natural disasters and crime are partially susceptible as well. Other life changing events such as the loss of a loved one, divorce, child custody battles, job loss, etc are other sources of suppressed anger. However, suppressed anger does not necessarily have to be related to a huge traumatic event in your life. For some people, the intense feelings of loss and anger at never having a chance to say goodbye, after a close friend moves away, remain with the person well into adulthood. It is important not to dismiss these types of experiences as being silly or unworthy of exploration.
Why do some people seem addicted to anger?
Some people are anger junkies. They enjoy or need to experience the short-term pay-offs of aggression in order to get through their everyday life. A definition of addiction which I find useful is that it is "a short term kick followed by a longer-term kick in the teeth"--a reward followed by a punishment.
Here are some of the short-term rewards of anger:
· Creates an adrenaline rush
· Provides a sense of power
· Provides Excitement
· Relieves boredom
· Makes people listen to you
· Enables you to avoid crying or showing vulnerability
· Keeps you from facing feelings of sadness or fear
· Gets people to do things for you through intimidation
· Establishes superiority over others (“I’m better than you”)
· Puts the blame on someone else, other than yourself
· Shows other people that you are not a wimp
· Scares other people into submission
· Motivates you to get things done
If you are an anger junkie, try to identify the pay-offs you are getting out of it. Then think about the long-term effects of your aggressive or passive aggressive behavior (e.g. loss of relationships, opportunities, etc.). Now decide if the short-term benefits are worth suffering the long-term punishments.
How can I manage my anger appropriately?
You can manage your anger and express it appropriately! Here is what you will accomplish once you learn how to manage your anger:
1. You will view anger as an emotion and nothing more. You won’t see it as a precursor to violence and will be able to recognize both the negative and positive effects anger can have in your life.
2. You will use anger as a signal that there are problems you need to look after.
3. You will take action, but only after you are aware of what is making you angry and why. You will be able to identify the type of anger you are experiencing – Present or Suppressed Anger.
4. You will be able to identify the primary emotions that lie under the surface of your anger and use these emotions to communicate your needs.
5. You will not need to resort to violence, crime or verbal attack because of your anger.
6. You will skillfully cope with interpersonal conflict.
7. You will state your needs clearly, in ways that others can understand.
8. You will let go of your anger rather than hang onto it once you have expressed your feelings and resolved the problem.
'Healthy' Anger
Because anger is not a negative emotion it can be a healthy emotion! Healthy anger lets you problem-solve, not blame. It gives you control, allows you to think and to accept your feelings. With healthy anger, you accept responsibility for your anger. You do not blame others.
How do you make anger healthy?
ü Know you are angry. Your body will tell you that you are angry. Pay attention to the sign:
· Increased heart rate
· Red, hot face
· Sweaty palms
· Wide Eyes (pupils dilated)
· Knotted stomach
· Tight jaw
· Clenched fists
· Tense or shaky body
· Yelling
· Tightness of the throat
ü Know what is making you angry. What type of anger you are dealing with (present or suppressed anger)?
Hint: You can tell what kind of anger you are experiencing by comparing your degree of emotional response to the situation. If you are annoyed, frustrated, mildly bothered, flustered, taken aback, you are likely responding to Present Anger. However if you are ticked right off!, vengeful, or ready to hit someone you’re responding to Suppressed Anger. Of course, some Present Anger situations can make you extremely angry. For example, if you experience a major injustice such as losing a child to murder. With this in mind, you will also need to take the situation into account. Ask yourself if your emotions are in proportion to event taking place. Be honest with yourself about this. If the situation doesn’t warrant the degree of emotion you are experiencing try to figure out where your Suppressed Anger is coming from.
Here are some strategies for emotional release of anger:
ü Take a few deep breaths. Breathe in through your nose for five seconds and out through your mouth for five seconds. Repeat the process until you feel calm.
ü Write a letter to the person you are angry at that you never intend to send. Be as irate as you wish, but try if you can to express the secondary emotions behind your anger in the letter. After you are done, you can either tear the letter up or burn it, depending on how you feel.
ü Talk to a close friend who has nothing to do with the situation. One cautionary note, check with the person before you begin to be sure they are prepared to listen. If it is not a good time, ask when would be a better time and make an arrangement to talk then. You will also need to be sure the person is a good listener and is willing to put up with your ranting and raving!
ü If you are coping with a lot of historical anger it might help to write a list of all the people you are angry at and why. Remember you are not planning to share this list with any of the people on it.
ü Scream in the Car - If you do this, be sure that the windows are rolled up and doors are closed. Make sure nobody is around.
ü Twist a Towel – Tightly twist a towel using both hands. As you twist, express your anger verbally, say I’m angry”, “I hate you”, or whatever else you are feeling. Let the towel absorb your anger.
ü Dance and Music – This is a great way to release anger but it is a bit noisy so you may want to wait until you are alone. If you live in an apartment that has poor sound proofing you may prefer to take it to some other location, such as a secluded woods. Play a piece of music that expresses your anger. Now start dancing – in a primitive, passionate style. Stomp your felt on the floor and shake your body. If you have one, you can add a drum or tambourine to the mix. Feel the anger flowing out of body. When you stamp the floor say, “Boom, this Anger”, “Boom, Boom, (name the person you are angry at here)”.
ü Get back to nature – Go to your local forest or wildlife park. Walk or run on the trails – what ever you prefer. Use what nature has to offer such as a rocks for throwing (be sure nobody is in its path!), dead branches for beating on the ground, etc.
ü Exercise – go for a walk or run to unwind. Only one precaution here… Be sure you are not using exercise as a distraction. The object of this exercise (no pun intended!) is to release your anger not suppress it.
ü Beat a Drum – Get a drum and pound on it. Please note, all the cautionary notes mentioned in “Dance and Music” (above) also apply here too!
ü Punch a Pillow – Don’t forget to verbalize your anger. Yes, you have my permission to yell at your pillow.
City Vs Rural,
Hey Willis won.
Reba won big time,,,160K per year tax free, for life ,for being the worst Health minister in History.
I have never seen a Union get a pay cut for its members, but why take it out on the bushies,we all have different types of jobs and demands. Some seem to get pais more, some dont.
The system for the city will crash,It will never work. The new rosters will not increase anycars or staff whats so ever.
All it means is we in the city will work harder, longer for less.
As for AOMs getting 30%,they didnt do the new skills, all they have done is offloaded their work onto Station Officers.
How can the workers get so screwed,as for the parramatta ambo,we need the country for numbers in support to put industrial action on,so shut up!!!!
"Proud to be a city ambo - cause I work for a fucking living."
Hahahaha, Thats Gold. You crack me up you clueless noob.
Quick. I think your mums calling you for dinner!!
"Proud to be a city ambo - cause I work for a fucking living."
It is obvious you ARE Rochford and all you are trying to do is destabilise things between all of us no mattere where we are from. It won't work because you are just one person and there are hundreds of us out here that will stick together when it counts. Yes city ambo's are getting flogged and yes country ambo's are too. The only difference is you people in the city do get to eventually go home and not have to worry who is ringing on the phone. Country ambo's have a phone in their pocket all the time. I have just finsihed my 7 days and 7 nights here and today is one of my 2 days off. I have just walked in the door after being called twice today to jobs the svc couldn't cover. Yes they paid me but I never rang them. That leaves me 1 1/2 days to recover before I go and do it all again. I know it is what we do and I accept that but they aren't throwing money at me for doing nothing.
Have you ever heard of the word NO.
yes thats correct NO.
If you are on your days off, turn your phone off!
you know you cant save everyone that calls, unless you want to be a martar.
You do have rights you, what would happen if you die,do you think thay would still call you, while ever you people keep saying yes they will just keep calling.
its time to take control back of your future.
I know what its like in the bush ive worked there,Temora to be exact. On my days off
I pulled the phone line out of the wall, and turned my mobile off.
you to can do that if you really wanted too.
you cant save everyone you know!!!
EVERYONE !
STAY FOCUSED ...................we need to achieve two things by the end of the day.
"""ACTION Tommorrow""" ... or i am gone and never coming back ... and i can bet you i will not be the only one !!!
yeah but do you think everyone reads this blog,
NUP!!!
haaaaaaaaaaaaa
Walker.... Willamson is a pea heart and a grub!
Why do we have to wait till friday for industrial action and the svc started to take money off us within 8hrs.
this is just bullshit, softly softly crap.
its a good thing my $21 was safe in my pocket and not the HSUs.
Williamson is a mutt.
If your not a HSU member you cannot complain about their action or inaction.
As shitty as it is you have to give a leed time for them to address the issues.
However your not a member so you cannot comment.
I must agree with Neville, I would prefer to start earlier but you have to advise what you will do before you do it.
Anyway if you dont vote for the prime minister you cannot complain about who it ends up being.
I am a country ambo and I wll support you guys all the way.
Bush ambos are overpaid and underworked.
Pay them like us City people - by the minute worked.
If they get all these call outs after hours - put them all on night shifts. Its pretty simple you know.
I work my arse off in Sydney lugging vegies and get around 52k per year.
Bush ambos get at least TWICE that for bullshit call outs!
I know, bring in a composite wage and I will be getting paid for what I work and at least there will be some parity with all of this.
Bushies live for their lucrative overtime, call their mates out for bullshit "assists," have a beer or two while on call, have parties when on call, burn the bosses fuel when on call, sleep at home when on call.
And STILL WHINGE...!
I study hard and get paid shit just because I live for my Patients.
Where is the fairness in all of this?
Mr Willis, gO get em boy!!!
You live for your patients?
yet you call them vegies?
Not you agian.
You are angry at the wrong people.
I work in eastern sydney and I will not be associated with irrational people like you.
By the way all the comments disagreeing with you appear to be mostly from city officers.
Clearly you have a minority opinion and you should shut up.
Yeah lets give it to the operations centres next we can save heaps by not having ambos in there make them all civvies now that we have gotten rid of rescue and sucked in those looser ambos ha haa hah
we have them right were we want them hehehehehehe looserrs
so if iam not a union member does that mean i dont lose 25% and ongoing, meal pens?
does mean i dont have to do the 12 hr shifts when they come in?and the 2x 30 min paid meal break that iam not going to get because i dont get the 1 hr now.To busy!!!!!!!!
It sounds good to me to not be a member, and just for the record they can also keep their 4% increase, because not giving up my meal pens, iam in front without the 4%.
and for the fucking record i paid union fees for 18 yrs,and for the last 5yrs ive been waiting for a pay rise.
but No i get a pay cut,and iam not even a member.
how does that work idiot?
And when you all walk, who will be walking with you,,,,,non members idiot!!!!!!!!
quite frankly i wouldnt own up to being a member anyway.I would be ashamed to own up to that, idiot.
thats right you girls we are listening hehehehehehe
To city whinger from another city ambo.
resign or fuck off to the country if it is so good.
City country what does it matter we can always get volunteers retained ambulance officers the way of the future
Oh ... it would seem totally unbelievable but, it appears that we, as a group have finally grown some balls and are going on strike on friday.... !
Good... at last... SEE WE DONT NEED THAT PATHETIC CORRUPT INION NOW DO WE !!
just watch them crumble !
Already i have heard the HSU are shitting themselfs and are sending text messages to as many ambos as they can trying to scare them off !
They know that once we do this and get a result that we will no longer need those two faced mutts who in my opinion are worse than the likes of roachford and willis by a long shot !
To non HSU member
no to all except, you cannot complain about a service that you dont pay for.
If you pay insurance for 18yrs you cannot make a claim when you stop paying premiums.
I will apprecaite your support. You sound like a passionate person.
I only disagree with you on one point.
So you ca calm down. Its just and opinion
To late dudes it is signed sealed and delivered suggest you either show up for union meetings (and join) or look for another job or better still shut up your whinging and get on with it look for another job and leave leave us in peace
If everyone walked off the job as individuals there is nothing anyone could do so do it protest by withdrawing your labor dont show for work demonstrate your angst show you anger (fuck the union) state day of action send a clear message no protest just don't go to work everyone they will have a cat you will hurt them the only way to do it
The way to hurt the union is by resigning but you will make the Ambulance management very happy especially as they then think have it over you not if everyone was the walk as individuals even if everyone resigned from the union then launched a complaint the the state labour council and the ACTU for any of this to work we have to be united %100 no matter where you work then organised they both will come crawling when we take it to the media and have rolling no shows days
Have a read and think about it lets get even it will not matter if a couple of bum lickers show for work image one car at Paramatta or a the SAC on day shift showing for work
It is ok to get on this site for a laugh I do it all the time but the time has come for orgising and action and sending a message let them see how angry we are the state government listened to the bus drivers when they did the same they probably earn more an hour then we do
We would all be non union then the ambulance management would be asking for a union to represent us so they would have someone to talk to about the huge no shows of staff so they could negotiate
The public outcry could be answered by the most trusted under paid ambos and the list of wrongs that have been done to us by the state government compared to Vic ambos we then tell them the truth about life as a ambo both country and city both have a hard job then we might be able to form our own union so that no one in the service is discriminated against again
I know the train drivers earn more an hr than we do.35.00 an hr.
If we walk by ourselves without representaion, and i look behinde me and no one is standing there iam going to be pretty pissed!!!!!
so back to square one i guess, but rejoining the HSU is not always the answer either. One has to be carefull that the ones suggesting to join are not the managers or worse Williamson.
Iam confused, but i do know somethink i dont like to lose money.and as every day passes iam loosing more and more,my super,my lifestyle.
somethink has to give, and bloody soon.
VIC ambos have had their own union for a very long time they have a much better award than we have with significant things like laundry of uniforms a comp wage and can still earn overtime etc they have never had or wanted rescue sorry guys but they have a better paramedic system with better opportunities for clinical training helo air amb
Iam there sweet!!! where do i sign
Ask around talk to as many other ambos as you can gage the feeling you will know if everyone is going to walk or not but if we can get it right worste case senario it will be called a sickie best case 500 to 1000 sickies wow
Us hard working city ambos have less sickies than those bludging and overpaid bush ambos have.
Just look at the stats.
Malcolm Voyzey [our GREAT leader] proved this with the help ofa great SCAT Paramedic on a statistical analysis of the Hunter blokes.
"Hunter SCAT Chris" did a research paper for his B. H. Science Degree which proved that penalty rated shifts had a marked less absenteesim than those of non penalty rated.
The same research was conducted for the bushies which stated that their sickies were far higher in non call periods than us city blokes and girls due to the lucrative on call factor.
You know why?
Its 'cause we have to go to work and rely on penalty rates to earn money to live and can't afford to live on sick pay.
This is why most ambos DON'T report serious injuries and work with them for fear of losing their jobs.
Bushies earn it all in a few days and then chuck a sickie to have a holiday.
Bludging bastards they ALL are.
"I can't and won't chuck a sickie tonight 'cause I am first on call. It may well cost me over $1000!!!
Fuck that...!
"After that lot of on call, my mates will take care of me, 'cause I will take care of them."
Now the bushies actually voted for the city guys to LOSE money through loss of meal penalties for a higher base rate that gives them even more money.
And the city blokes thanked them for HELPING them???
Hello....!
Us city blokes get FLOGGED all day and night. And starve while the bushies make more on our new base rate which snowballs into more money for their call outs.
How good is that???
Its just business and how they do things in the bush.
"Take care of me and I will take care of you."
"Sweetheart, book the new Landcruiser 200 in for a service, and while you are at the computer, please book a flight to a bullshit ambo conference in the Maldives so that we can get it off our tax.
Business Class, of course.
Go Mr Willis and Mr Rochford, go and get them all.
I love both of you two.
yes that sounds great, but will they pay 1000,sickies,when they see our ugly heads on TV.
Oh well whats 1 pay when its the next 35 yrs for me to work in this great career ive set up for myself.
you really have to laugh,or you would cry.
all this stress, and iam just sitting at the computor, not at work, what will it be like at work when iam off holidays.
I dont know, but as my Gran used to say "it will all come out in the wash"
and the FUCKING UNION better start washing.
Neville, your a fuckwit.
I am a PAYING UNION member (for now)
I do not begruge one single non union member from asking questions.
If they still support union sanctions and bans than I don't blame them for not wanting to waste their mone any longer.
And most of these officers Neville you knob, have payed more union dues than you over their carrear.
I hold the paying members that go against union sanctions in more contempt than anyone.
You will see who they are if there is any action in the coming days.
I also want to know who the 4 fuckwit sub branches are that are not united with us on this and why?
I also want to know why the delegates meeting wasn't planned sooner, we all knew the decision was coming on friday.
I want to know why some of the sub branche delegates did not ask their members wishes before this meeting so action could have been implemented quicker.
And if there is going to be a fair dinkum stop work meeting, where is is going to be held? what are the logistics?
Surely this has been thought of.
That is why I don't begruge people leaving this pathetic union.
I only stay to bring Williamson down from the inside.
I like your work Mr Greg Rouchford. All this negative talk,
bush Vs city.
your not a physic nurse for nothing are you?
You are just trying to divide, bush and city, and we wont let you.you are a terrorist, someone who causes havoc, turmoil, distress, manipulate,
destroy the lives of everyone around you.
Treachery (betrayal of trust)
Your spitefull act towards the AOs was only because they called for your sacking.
So you go the cowards way and give them a pay cut,you may think you are untouchable, but you will always now have to look over your shoulder.I would never want to be in your shoes,so hated by mear mortals only trying to make a living,in this harsh world,
Beware of the Dark,or what might be lurking behinde you, when you put your bins out at night.
Mmmmmmmmmmmm
How come all sub branchs have to be united when we are all on different bloody awards.
So the sub branchs that this sticking fucking thing effects should walk and bugger the rest.
they couldnt even consults us before takeing money off us.
They consulted the managers though.
I like the Bin thing who ever you are, good one.
Heya anon...
I am not Rochford.
ALL ambos voted for the pay rise AND the subsequent loss of meal penalties for the city based boys and girls.
Now we affectively have two Awards;
1) The [2009] NSW Sate Ambulance Employees Hard Working City Based Award, and
2) The [2009] NSW State Ambulance Country Bludgers Award.
The HSU is a democracy after all.
Have your stupid strike.
The public yawns as if it were bitten by a sheep.
Most still call us drivers.
The bushies will be right behind you.
That's right behind you.
They are laughing at you all ten way to the bank with all of this on tne backs of hard working city based ambos who are stupidly prepared to lose a days pay for fuck all.
City blokes voted against this pay deal, yet the bushies voted for it.
What does that tell you?
Bushies lost nothing and gained money.
The city blokes gained an extra tax bracket and lost 30% of their wage base.
Its not me saying this brother, read the previous bloggs of ambos doing it bloody tough.
I am their voice and WON'T be bullied into shutting up to defend their conditions.
I can't believe how stupid you are thinking that I am against any ambo.
I am just asking for some real mateship and leadership.
Rochford for Premier, Willis for Deputy Premier and Williamson for Minsiter for Health.
Beaudy mate.
"Us hard working city ambos have less sickies than those bludging and overpaid bush ambos have."
Oh dear.... another person who has never seen whats on the other side of the Great Dividing Range.
Why do the sub branches have to be united?
Fuck me you a bright fuck.
Look up the word UNION in a dictionary.
you obviously have not been in this job long or a job prior to this with a decent union.
Strike that, you probably have been in this job for ages thats why you don't know what union means.
I'm sorry, not your fault, you have not had a very good example.
The service is giving all P1's morphine on wednesday.
we have made this mistake once.
send your authorisation letter back and tell them to stick it up rochfords arse, UNTIL WE GET PAID FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh looky here... ANOTHER MEETING ON WEDNESDAY !!....OOOOHHHHHH, LETS BEG THE SCHOOL BULLY NOT TO HIT US JUST ONE MORE TIME....
FUCK THAT ..... THE TALKING IS ALL DONE AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED... TIME TO HIT BACK !
lISTEN .. AND LISTEN GOOD !
it does not matter how many meetings you have, how many things are discussed or how many emotions are aired at this meeting. This whole thing... all the work done by people for the HSU, all the previous meetings, all the money that has been given... EVERYTHING .. has all been about this
---------------------------
((""" ONE MANS POLITICAL CAREAR ... Michael Williamson """ ))
---------------------------
And if you dont believe that, then just look what michael costa did to one of the largest unions in the country (fucked them royaly) and still came out looking good !
bearing that in mind, do you think Michael Willaimson gives a shit about a couple of thousand baggy arsed ambos ??
rumor has it that he was contacted late last night by a very upset delegate who informed him that if this decision was not reversed and QUICKLY, he may be looking at mass resignations from the HSU... to which he replied... " they would'nt have the guts !!
"Have you ever heard of the word NO.
yes thats correct NO.
If you are on your days off, turn your phone off!"
Just to set the record straight I hadn't been home to knock off to turn my phone off. I was still working from the day before and refusing the jobs would have been refusing duty. Anyone who knows me knows I have no interest in saving most of them let alone ALL of them.
Fuck the country? Fuck the City? If we can't get it together we will all be fucked!
The State-wide delegates meeting held today discussed the Major Industrial Case decision delivered last Friday (Newsletter 180/ 2008) in considerable detail.
The Meeting considered that key components of the major case that were sought by the Service & the Department are consistent with the pattern of gross mismanagement of the Service in recent times, in particular:
· The ill conceived plan to introduce shifts of a maximum 12 hour duration, when the Service had full knowledge that it is incapable of implementing this in the near future;
· The Service’s insistence on the immediate reduction in the current compensation for Officers in Sydney & the Central Coast without taking any action to ensure Officers have greater access to meal breaks or the additional rostered days that underpin their proposed 4x5 roster & 12 hour shifts which they stated they were seeking to reduce Officer fatigue;
· The Service’s proposal to expand the number of Officers at considerable cost (approx $11- 12 million) to implement alleged “roster reform. ” These “reforms” will not increase in any way the number of crews available to provide the service essential to the public, and which has been virtually static for eight years, notwithstanding increased demand;
· The decision to divest the Service of its Rescue capability: This decision is ill conceived, and, notwithstanding that Metropolitan Rescue was abandoned by the Service’s management, it retains its role in Special Operations and rural rescue;
· Concerns that the “flexibility” sought by the Service in posting rosters with only 7 days notice demonstrates that the Service is in fact incapable of efficiently rostering its staff, and fails to consider the difficulties of Officers working continuous rotating shift work to be able to plan their family/ care/ community/ personal welfare commitments; and
· That the changes sought & obtained by the Service to the Appointment of Officers clause in the Award will not only lead to deskilling of Officers, but will actually put the community at risk.
The State-wide Delegates Meeting determined that:
· The Service & Department of Health be given the opportunity to reconsider its position in relation to these matters, and
· Unless the Service &/or Department reverse their position in relation to these matters by 1700 on Friday 19th September, that Industrial Action will commence at that time.
· The Industrial Action will take the following form: Ambulances will only respond to time critical cases (1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, & 2C, as well as taking radiotherapy & dialysis patients to their appointments, and only performing hospital transfers of patients from low to higher acuity care.
Urgent Sub branches meetings will be conducted over the next couple of days to endorse (or otherwise) the resolution of the State-wide Delegates Meeting. Sub branches are requested to email Bob Morgan with the results of those meetings.
HSU will be calling a major media conference in the morning.
Further updates will be provided as the matter develops.
Regards,
Bob Morgan
We lose conditions but that Slappa Reba gets $120k pension for life.
no wonder we are pissed off. bring on industrial action, and pray for the day she or any onther of the goons that screwed us need an Ambulance.....Make those **$%S wait on a stretcher for half a day.
Whilst we have a cuppa!!
This is on the intranet under media comment on the front page.. Why can't the roach apologise himself?
Media Comment
Public Affairs has received requests for comment form local media outlets about a recent interview by the Chief Executive where it is claimed that access block is caused by cups of tea. Staff from Public Affairs were in attendance at the interview and provided the following clarification:
Recently the Chief Executive Greg Rochford held a press conference about the Ambulance Service of NSW for Sydney media. During the course of the press conference, Mr Rochford was questioned by a journalist as to why a number of ambulances were waiting at Westmead Hospital and if this was a direct result of bed block.
Mr Rochford acknowledged that delays at emergency departments do occur and that these are frustrating for Ambulance and for paramedics unable to promptly hand over the care of their patient at the emergency department to so they can be available to attend the next emergency.
However, it would be wrong to assume that every ambulance parked in an ambulance bay is delayed. For example Westmead plans to receive 8 ambulances per hour and the ambulance bay can appear very busy even when there are minimal delays. Paramedics may also be completing patient paperwork, re-stocking their ambulance with supplies, decontaminating their vehicle or equipment or having a quick drink before they respond to their next job.
Ambulance encourages paramedics to take reasonable breaks and when workload permits.
Mr Rochford intended no offence by the comment he made to the media but wanted the media to understand that there were a variety of reasons for ambulances being observed outside an emergency department.
Thanks for your hard work bob, there are a majority of officers who acknowledge and appreciate the work of yourself and dennis.
Cheers
Lets see how united we are.
How many of our paying union brothers in co-ord will NOT try and give you routine transports on friday if our action goes ahead?
You need to say NO to the fuckwit supervisor standing over your shoulder and KNOW that you will have our full support.
DON"T be intimidated
DON'T leave it up to the road staff to do all the fighting.
Poor lost souls,
If the proposed strike goes ahead and it causes a single person to doubt our absolute committment to their welfare - then the public will take to us with a carving knife just as what happened to the Vic Civil Ambos 30 years ago.
Mark my fucking words that ANY one who does not respond to any emergency will be carved up in the street a soon as it is discovered that you are an ambo.
Rocks will be thrown at you, you will be assaulted and abused.
Your wife/husband and kids will cop it more than you will ever think possible.
Not all ambos will be with you.
Some will fold and not toe the union line.
Think of those in country towns where they don't have any anonymity.
With all the ambos out of the HSU, they will be uncovered for any civil and industrial liability with all this strike madness that is being perpetuated at the moment.
Just think about what happened to the nurses working at the RNSH who travelled on public transport in uniform.
Abuse, assault and the ugly part of an unhappy public venting its spleen onto them.
Please, brothers and sisters, do not do this.
Rochford will go in a way that allows the government can save face.
We all know the man is a fool. The government does too.
Please give the new a chance to Premier deal with him and ten rest of the inept government that he took over from boof headed Iemma.
You will get more staff, better conditions and finally a commissioner.
But it will not happen with a strike threat.
Please, listen to Rik and other voices of moderation like mine.
P.A.P.
(The real one).
There's NO doubt it's the real P.A.P
Because you are a Fucking Idiot.
Softly softly P.A.P you goose.
Look where it got us.
How the fuck would you know what the public reaction would be.
Everyone I have spoken to has said they don't blame us.
Everyone my colleagues have asked have given the same response.
Thats 100% finger on the pulse pap.
People can try and through shit at me if you like.
I will do what it takes to pay the bills and feed and cloth my kids.
I could not give a fuck what a minority (if any) of the public thinks of me.
My Family comes first.
If I see you walking down the street pap I may throw something other than food at you.
FUCKWIT.
I work and live in a town of 5000 people and to a tee they are all behind us. They already know about what the service did to rescue and they all know that the govt and our Ceo are corrupt. They are all just waiting for the opportunity to vote them out of power. I blame the union for spending so much time trying to get us to vote labor at the election. Remember? Wear your union T shirt every Thursday and put your labor posters all over the ambulance!! I feel like a total idiot for listening to them and voting these peanuts back in. Look at them falling apart at the seams. Lets make sure anyone voting in a bi-election anywhere vote labor last and maybe force an election because they won't have the balance of power. I am not convinced the Libs could do any better but seriously could they do any worse???? Della Bosca was just on the news saying we have it tough and he will be supporting us. Lets see if he is a man of his word!!!!
Poor lost souls,
Just wait until [the proplsed strike action really happens] and then you will see the change in public opinion.
You had better have a good hidey hole brother 'cause you, your work mates and your family will be needing camoflauge with this one.
Hopefully [one those affected] won't be one of your circle of friends or [heaven forbid] a family member of yours.
But it will be somebodie's loved one and theeir opinion will change and will hold us all to account and ridicule.
You are seriously looking at withholding treatement and bury a fellow Aussie for a dollar an hour extra?
Please, consider investing that dollar and ring the Victorian ambos and ask them what happened to them after their strike.
Or, consider contacting the RNHS ED and ask one of the nurses there what they went through with public humiliation.
NSW Health did fuck all to help them. Not even a PR campaign to take the heat off them.
We can only guess what they will do to us when the public is finished with us. It won't be pretty.
And the [RNSH nurses] didn't even do anything wrong like withhold treatment to a choking child.
Listen, I am no idiot just because you may call me one. And I have the right to tell my version of all of this, even if you disagree with my views.
All that I ask is that you contemplate the gravity of the situation you are planning.
P.A.P.
Hi guys,
Our Sub-branch just held a teleconference with officers from the area to vote on industrial action to support the city guys.
It is with absolute pride that I can say there was an overwhelming number of ambos that phoned in to listen and vote for industrial action on Friday. We are all united and support you in correcting this injustice!
Every officer I have spoken to is appalled and disgusted with the decision to abolish meal penalties; country officers know (often through personal experience) that these penalties make a crap wage a semi-decent/can put food on the table for the kids kind of wage.
I just hope that this will be evidence to those 'city' officers who doubt our loyalty and believe that country folk only care about supporting themselves. I have no doubt that changes to our essential call out system will try to be implemented in the future. These call outs, like your call offs are needed. I have hope that you guys will one day support us too when needed.
HSU has a meeting with Delabosca tomorrow.
Let's all stand strong together!
Googs
P.A.P,
The proposed industrial action on Friday only involves not transporting people out of hospitals; discharges for example. Emergency's, both hot and cold responses will still occur, as will required patient treatment transfers and renals. Various posts on this blog have pointed to the obvious fact that if people aren't discharged, everything stops...no one admitted... and bed block up the wazoo.
So that choking child can still be saved and we won't be stoned to death by the public.
Googs
PAP you have been around long enough to remember when we have done exactly the same things re transports in the past and nobody got stoned. Stop trying to scare everyone into not responding. What do you propose? A paperwork ban?????
Dear P.A.P,
if you think it is so UN AUSTRALIAN to withhold treatment, then it is very UNAUSTRALIAN to denigh people to fight for their livelyhood.
When the police had their bands a few weeks back and werent booking people everyone thought it was great, even though it would cause so much danger on the roads.
accidents, lives lost,i didnt hear to much about the public being upset.
There still will be ambulances available,on Friday, and I thought we as a svc was 000 only, not "coughs and colds","Or twiching all over but can still walk around, and feeling fine",but just too fucken lazy to go to see a Dr at a medical centre,"Oh and the best for last P.A.P" "ive ran out of milk "love" could run up and grad me a Ltr!!!!!!!!!!!"
If the public are unhappy tell them to stand outside a hospital while we have a stop work meeting.
This abuse of power, from the IRC and Rouchford has to stop. Its got to be made clear that this cannot happen to the lowly worker.
Managers will be looking for our support, when they all become Rapid responders, why do you think they have off loaded so much of their work onto the SOs,why do you think they gave them such a big pay increase,28%.
They use AOMs as rapid responders here on the central coast, and have done for some time now, only they are so stupid they havent worked it out yet, they just think they are helping out,WANKERS
you can see the writing on the wall.
I say go for it,lookout for tuesday,,crazy tuesday, when its full on.
anyway i cant see Della Bosca knocking back a chance like this to get themselves looking good in the publics eye, they need us at the moment so we may as well make the most of it and get what we can.
C.C. Ambo.
P.A.P
I am sick of fucking Cowards like you trying to throw the guilt trip on us once again.
What gives you the right and Audacity to say that any member of the public is a higher priority then my family?
Fuck you pap you righteous prick.
Why don't you dress up in a uniform and troll the streets looking for sick people?
How did the service ever survive without you?
or if you still work, how do they survive on your days off?
If you think peoples lives are at risk if we take indusrial action then what do you think is happening now you niave twit.
The way the service is struggling for vehicles now is killing people.
So pull your fucking head in COWARD.
While you might have difficulty walking down the street holding your head high due to your lack of spine I do not.
And know ill informed bum on the street (and thats what they would be) will scare me from doing whats best for my family and colleagues.
Grow yourself some TICKER
PISS WEAK P.A.P
P.A.P.
You make me sick to my stomach .... and no ! I dont care what the public think of me of friday .... I put my trust in that pathetic fucking Union and they let me down as they have done time and time again.
You are an idiot and should just piss off...
anyway the damage has been done... and if you want to put the blame for all this squarly where it belongs, then phone Michael Williamson and get in his ear !!!! because thats who you should be talking to !
My brothers and sisters are united on this one, and with or without the HSU, you are going to see some (very serious) action come friday.... and you can bet your bollocks on that one !
P.s. if you know of any officers on your station who do regular ART shifts ... remember to contact them and ask them not to put in for any more until further notice !
Text them, phone them or talk to them... and just "ASK" them to hold off for while until this has been all sorted out !
This will ( REALLY ) maximise our efforts to get a result quickly !
The simple fact is that the IRC judge didn't want to listen to anything the union had to say. Graham McCarthy didn't even get a chance to speak and tell them about our upgrades. The judge had already made up his mind. he was going with the proposal put forward by Rochford and Willis and that was that. That sounds like corruption to me. The only thing he allowed to stay was crib breaks for rural officers something they never had before. Up until last week the service was trying to have it removed as they had fucked up. The judge told them that he wouldn't remove it as it was them (the service) that had propsed it so they had to wear it. Had the union been able to put forward what it was they wanted we may have had a chance but as i said the judge had already made up his mind. The judiciary is run by the government as is the ambulance service. See a pattern here?
Rescue Gone - Check
Meal Penalties Gone - Check
Clincial Alllowances gone - Check
Ambo's Fighting Like Cats in a Sack - Check
Massive D/O Pay Rise - Check
Phase 1 - World Domination......... Check
We all need to join in the action proposed for friday onwards - if we cannot reverse these decisions we are all well and truly down the toilet.
If the Service is allowed to get away with this crap then what will they do next? Shift & weekend penalties? leave entitlements?
Very few of us joined this job for the money, but very few of us can also survive these decisions for long either.
The union may have let us down on this one, but they are our best hope of standing tall and forcing a backdown on this abortion. None of us have the ability to do this by ourselves.
City or country does not matter in this one as we will all be screwed if we let this come to pass.
Back your mates, look after the people who work with you, and fight these bastards till they back off?
It looks like to me the government seem to think we are providing some sort of community svc or we are a charity organisation.
I did join to help people, but i also joined to get paid.
We have to make sure we dont back down like it has happened before,or we will be some sort of charity svc and wont get paid!
Good luck to the boys and girls at the sub branch meeting at St Ives tonight.I hope your delegates will have the guts to stand with their workmates for once in supporting industrial action. I won't be there as a non member of HSU, but will be right with you in fighting against this disgraceful decision by the IRC. Williamson thinks you won't do it. Prove the mutt wrong!!!
PAP, Give yourself an uppercut you duck egg.
The Riverina Sub-branch voted unaminously to support the industrial action last night.
There was not one single no vote.
We had a large attendance on a teleconference and most of our members were involved.
Our rural members are appalled at changes in conditions and especially the effects that they have in the metro areas.
We are united in our stance.
PAP,
I have usually liked and enjoyed comments.
However you appear to have lost the plot on this one.
So what is that turncoat Williamsons thoughts on this proposed action? Is he actually going to support us or his labour mates? I know where I'd put my money!!!
well put it there and fuck off
Lisa, have you been sniffing around the drug store again?, come on what have you been told.
Ease up luv, there, there now.
Only one Lisa I know who gets right to the point like that hahaha how are you lovey???
Thanks Mark and pass our thanks on to your riverena colleagues.
We appreciate your support and unity on this matter.
It will be repayed when they try and take rescue off you.
Steve.
Sorry Lisa but I think waste of 21dollars has a point.
Willaimson has already stated has doesn't think we have the guts.
My money is that he will try and swing this around so that we are taking action to get ride of the CEO only.
I wish he had the same tenacity towards our wage claim as he has trying to off roachford.
Poor Lost Souls
I searched my own sorry soul last night.
You are all right.
They were cowardly comments that I had previously made.
I admire the fire in your belly.
Keep the coals hot and you may pull it off.
P.A.P
It takes a big man to reverse himself like that.
has any sub branch voted against the industrial action?
I don't know why the remaining rescue truck operators don't all lock their trucks up and tell the service to jam them. It is obvious what they are going to do. As soon as they have other services to replace them they will be gone too. Get in first and tell them to stick it. Mid North Coast are meeting tonight and I am 100% sure they will be voting to support any action. We need to stand tall on this one. P.A.P well done mate on your reversal. Look it is easy to lose sight of things in the heat of the moment and like Warren Boon said on the TV the other night he has both men and women ringing him in tears. We have all been waiting for this decision for so long thinking we would get a fair deal and have all just kept on going waiting for the decision. To be handed down this one is disgusting. If it doesn't end up being reversed we need to all work to rule. No clearing until we are clear and one patient one car. I somehow think things will go our way. I think Della Bosca might be a man of his word for a change.
Bill, they could get rid of rural rescue right now if they wanted to.
Their aim is to divide and conquer the troops.
If they would have canned rural rescue the same time as metro there would have been no doubt that a united front would have reared its head.
You have noticed that the bush has not faired bad in the award (yet).
Another ploy to make the bush think "why should I? doesn't affect me"
The Service has got a rude shock ahead of them, they did not anticipate such a united front.
Keep it up.
City will not forget the bushes support.
Thankyou PAP for pulling your head in.
Thanks to Mark and the Riverina Sub-branch for your earlier post.
These rural officers are supporting us in the city and it will not be forgotten.
It was obvious that the aim of the svc was to divide the issues and spoon feed them to us over a few weeks to make us look like a pack of whingers in the eyes of the public. The idiots didn't realise they had a dedicated and for the most part compliant workforce who have accepted and endured a lot of change without so much as a whimper. To then put the boot in like they have shows they couldn't manage a root in a brothel let alone a thinking workforce. It is truly time to stick together and show them that if you kick it hard enough even a guide dog will bite back. Draw the line in the sand boys and girls and ride this one out. On our side is the fact that there is a new premier who already has enough egg on his face to make us all an omelete and he doesn't want a shit fight with the darling of public opinion. (thats us remember??) Time to go hard or go home. Don't fight to get rid of Rochford, the government will do that for us when they realise he has no respect or power over us anymore. Focus on the issues that affect us and our pay and conditions. Don't fight for staff numbers or increased funding or any of that crap that management need and we have always pushed for, FIGHT FOR US. Good luck to us all and stand shoulder to shoulder city and bush.
I know the HSU had a meeting with Dela-Bosca today.
My greatest fear is that they will beleive his empty promises and as a show of good faith (remember how many times we have showed good faith) will lift the planned bans on friday.
Please tell me we haven't caved.......again
Does anyone know if friday is still happening??
Mid North Coast sub branch voted unanimously to support our city family members in their despicable plight.
United we stand divided we fall.
How many were at the meeting Crusty?
The new minister in interview with Alan Jones
(cut & paste link to browser)
http://www.livenews.com.au/MultimediaPopUp.aspx?id=112763&cat=11
Yes... the Illawarra sub -branch is meeting tonight & let me give you the drum... this new award, losing rescue..??
We're a bit dark about it.
I've not seen this much anger since Hartley put the slipper into Mal & this sub branch is primed for a fight. City, Country, Brothers Sisters, the time has come
Williamson, Ol Crazy Eyes & Flight Attendant Willis are deadset up for a Lynching if things go any more pear shaped than they already are......
Ol Crazy eyes.
Thats fucken choice.
I was just looking at his head yesterday thinking that there some freaky orbs.
Thanks bi guy, I needed a laugh.
I have just listen to Della Bosca on the Allen Jones radio program.
It sounds like he is looking for more time, well how much more time does he need to reverse the meal pens.
Dont feel sorry for him because he is a new Minister, just remember Williamson had a meeting with him last Thursday afternoon, the day before the MIC was handed down.
He already knew that this was going the way it was, just like the managers knew early last week, long before we found out.
these bans must go on at 5pm Friday,if we back down it will mean we have no credibility, with the government or the public.
c.c.ambo
I have said it in my previous posts.
My greatest fear is that the HSU feeds this bullshit to our delegates, and some of them will buy it. Like they did the interim 4% back in November.
Remember that one, you will get backpayed to this date. BULLSHIT.
They will tell us "In good faith give them more time", "don't want to upset blah blah blah."
Please stay strong and put the stink on or we WILL have ZERO credibilty.
Yet again no communication from the union on what we have voted on state wide!
That's right, the union has not even bothered to place anything on it's web site regarding our response to the wage case. As usual it appears the union is distancing it self from our impending industrial action, expecting this just to all go away.
The problem is thankfuly this is just the beginning of a new united front.
I heard on the radio today 2GB that the fire brigade will fight tooth and nail to retain the rescue it took off us, with backing of it's employee's union.
Rescue and 14% pay rise these pricks think they are untouchable.
We if all unite and fight this travesty of justice together it will put egg on Williamson and the HSU's face. No wonder HSU are worried!!!
I just listened to Della bosca on 2GB.
Mark my words.
The HSU will recommend STRONGLY to the sub branch Delegates to not put on any bans and to give the new minister a chance.
To be honest he does sound like he wants to help
BUT
He thinks the minimum wage is $60000.
He will know that if we cave in on the bans he has got us.
I am sick of all the promising talk.
It does not pay the bills.
It does not put food in my kids mouths.
I don't care how much good intention della bosca has, we have to let him know that we are fair dinkum.
PLEASE tell your delegates, regardless what the HSU advises that you want to keep the stink on.
We will win.
They are SHITTING themselves at the thought of this action.
Lets stop all the talking and whinging over this, this is our LAST stand.
If you cave it is all over.
6 cars down on the central coast tonight, come on boys and girls, tomorrow nights the go,thats what sick leave is for.
Good work Central Coast,we will not be taken for a ride again, are you listening HSU,Rouchford.
good work central coast.
Way to inspire the troops.
I won't be in tommorrow night.
That's it , we have got to hit them where it hurts, Rochford wants us to work for nothing to earn his yearly bonus, and i bet he sleeps well knowing it. Why not stay at home tomorrow night and spend some time with the family.
fucken unreal.
I can't believe its finally happening.
They will see how pissed off we are now.
Get in your car superintendents and earn the extra $600 bucks a week you just got.
they will call on syd and the hunter tomorrow night,,, no dought about that,,but if there are none to call,,,,ooopss!!!!!
The public are behinde us dont dought that for 1 minute.
who in the fuck do they think they are takeing money off me and my family. If they think we are letting the public down,,,,well my family are the public too.
They are takeing money away from my family.
so fuck them,,its bloody war.

Lets keep the roll on.
We have taken the first step and I know it has been difficult for some officers but in the long run we will come out on top and so will the public.
Don't forget people are already dying by this inept bunch of morons and their management of staff.
Stick it to them.
I am yet to here from one person in the street that they disagree with us.
We have RIGHT on our side.
Stay focused.
Show us the way central coast.
we are with you.
Hunter
I beleive it will only take 1 night of 000 calls only and way below MOL.They are already in strife tonight here on the Central Coast.
One night is all it will take, and we will be on top.
but just getting the meals back is really not enough. They should be paying us at a min 20% as well.
The 2.5% everyone in the state got,all state employees.4% for skills is an insult, considering others got 28%,for what,
No productivity, only giving us grief!.( being made to wait 4 years)
we want meals back and a decent Hrly increase, then this action will show just how much we have had enough.
As i said 1 night, and "the light will shine"
How dare they give others 28% or $600.00 a fortnight increase. This is an outrage.
keep it going troops,"justice will provale"

WILLIAMSON ! ..............
If you are reading this, and I bet that by now, you are... then know this.
You have betrayed us all for the last time, the game is over ... and there isnt a single person out there who would piss on you... if you were "ON FIRE".
You have used us both moraly and financially to further your own pathetic career and now everyone, and i mean EVERYONE knows how fucking corrupt you really are.
As you can see.... we dont need you ____ and more to the point, we dont want you, and even more to the point, nowone and i mean nowone will EVER trust you again after this.
To put a fine point on it my friend, and i know i speak for all of us when i say this , YOU ARE FINISHED you shameless rat !
You are here only until we get something else up and running and by the motivation and unity i see here now, that wont be very far off.
To the rest of you, i say ... remember what he has done, and dont ever forget it.... he has to go.
He is the SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT of the NSW LABOR PARTY and as such will never fight truly for you or I, his only interest is in himself.
Finally... I am once again proud of you all "brothers and sisters" for sticking together like this.... and we will win ! .... there is no way they can withstand a barrage like we are going to show them on friday ! it will make the battle of the Alimo look tame by comparision !!!
Keep up the good work, and see you for a bear on saturday ! ( cos i know we are going to have something really great to cellebrate )
You are so wright,if we fail today we may as well walk away.we have given too much time to this whole exercise with no decent outcome.
I only hope the delegates dont fold today.
i know for a fact the Central Coast wont fold at all.
Bans are not on, they are off.
we have the meals back in the city
how long are the meals back on for?
status quo, so indefinately
There you go !!! what did I tell you. Now wait and see how long it is before the HSU and Willaimson take credit for that.
But all of you and i know that if he had wanted this, we could have done it a LONG LONG time ago.
He is not to be trusted
( AT ANY POINT )!!!!
all it took was a band of united ambos " which we always have been " it was only the HSU who would have told you otherwise.... how else could they cover up thier continued incompetence ??
Right we know we have the power so what now.... well the first thing we need to do is EVERYONE get out of the HSU and then we need to set up a web site like both VIC and QLD ambo's and start polling for peoples opinion on issues ... make them clearly visable and then hire a hard hitting employee relations lawyer to maintain our conditions and rights at work !!!
I have just read the outcomes of the delegates meeting.
It appears that the new minister has revoked all the bad points of the new award and left the good ones there. Rescue pendig of course.
Not a bad result I feel.
round and round we go again
Dear management (HSU) !
the lesson here ===> ??
You can make all the noise you want around a sleeping elephant, but when he wakes.... he is going to trample everthing !!!
from what i hear we have had a good result.
maybe for once we might have something to be positive about for a little while anyway.
Brett!!! The positive thing is that we have proved that they will backdown...if we unite and take real industrial action. If HSU were really working for us then they would have organised this along time ago. We now know that we have the power over Health and Management. Now it's about time to work towards getting a fair wage for the work we do.
I agree with with about making management back down.
I dont about HSU, as they have helped me out greatly.
However we dont have to agree on everthing.
The main thing is that we have stood united despite our differnet opinions.
That is the true definition of union.
fucking suck shit rochford. Your NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lets not forget you too willis!
Hey anonymous September 19 2008 4:54 PM !
Whilst definately Roachford and Willis may not be the good guys, they were only doing what are weak, pathetic and self serving HSU were letting them do ! Williamson was in colusion with them all the way... right now he will be attempting to formulate a "SPIN" that he can put on this to save face, but the truth is ===> williamson had been lunching with roachford and other health staff and agreeing on what they would settle on way, way, way before he even looked at what mattered to us !
NEVER FORGET THAT !!
NEVER FORGET THAT !!
NEVER FORGET THAT !!
First and formost Williamson is a politician.... we are just his a paddle to help push that boat !
WE ARE THE ONES THAT FORCED THIS OUTCOME, NOT HIM ... AND I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT NEITHER ASNSW MANAGEMENT OR MICHAEL WILLIAMSON WOULD BE HAPPY WITH THE RESULT !
I think this backdown (that's not how government described it though) will have wiped the sleazy grins from Rochford, Willis and Williamson. Power to the workers you corrupt lot!!!
you need to take your meds and calm down matey!
While we have something to be pleased about, uniting and getting the ridiculous parts of the new reward removed, this is not yet permanent. Please read below part of the HSU email:
The Extraordinary State-wide Delegates Meeting to consider the implementation of Industrial Action this afternoon has just concluded.
There were extensive discussions between HSU & John Della Bosca, Minister for Health up until about 10. 30 this morning, by which time the Minister made the following proposal:
. Clause 20, Rostering & Meal Penalties: The Minister was receptive to HSU's assertion that the changes to the rostering & meal breaks in Sydney and the Central Coast sought by the Service may have "unintended consequences" which would leave Officers financially disadvantaged, notwithstanding the Service's protestations that this is not so;
. The Minister has requested that a peak level taskforce review the impact of the decision regarding rosters & meal penalties in Sydney and the Central Coast. This will include modelling to identify the "unintended consequences" referred to above. The Minister has requested that HSU advise him by close of business on Monday 22nd September who our nominee will be. (The meeting requested Dennis Ravlich to take on this responsibility due to his pivotal role in the Major Case. Dennis will require assistance at short notice with some matters of detail & will liaise with relevant Sub branch Officials.)
. The Minister has agreed that the Service & Department will not commence reducing the meal penalties as scheduled, and that the ultimate decision regarding this matter will not be made until the Peak Level TaskForce has completed its review and presented its Report to the Minister. The Report is also required to identify remedies if the Taskforce does identify financial disadvantage. It is expected that this Report will be with the Minister within four weeks. Essentially, the Minister has invoked the status quo in relation to this matter until he receives the Report and makes a decision based on that report. HSU is confident from examples worked to date that we will be able to provide comprehensive evidence for the Minister to make a sensible decision.'
This is still a win for us, we have proved what comes from presenting a united front and must continue to be united. We will all see in 4 weeks time, if that is in fact when the task force presents its findings to Della Bosca, whether meal penalties are REALLY here to stay.
Good work guys
Googs
They give us no pay rise, no P1 allowance take away our call offs and late meals and try and take away our overtime by extending our rostered shifts. After we kick up a stink they go easy on us and say they will look into whether we are losing money or not. We agree to hold off on any strike action for 4 weeks, If they reinstate our call offs and late meals and we go back to working 10 hour day shifts and we work overtime that will lead most of us to think we have had a win. Wow aren't we lucky they have given us our penalties back. Then we all go back to work and live happily ever after but we still don't have a pay rise or an allowance do we. No we don't. So after 4 years of negotiations we get a pay rise of nothing and think we have done well.
In 4 weeks time DElla Bosca will get our report and will examine it over the next 6 months and we get to hang on by ouir short and curlies a little bit longer. I am so sick and tired of all this bullshit. Back and forth to and from. I want to kill something.
Hey Rick. You have been given ample opportunity to tell me why you had the shits with us that night at Granville way back in the 80's and have failed to do so. I can only assume that you WERE on the bosses side that night and WERE promised a holiday or something to get us back to work.
It wont be hard to prove that losing meals will be a disavantage. But this is where Dennis needs to give Della Bosca a dead line to come to a result.Or it will go on and on.Just remember the longer it takes the closer to the next election, and I think the Labor party are "Dead Men Walking" and they know it.
But a good lesson was learnt today that it was not so painfull to stand together.Delegates and members, not to mention non members.
It may of not been the result some wanted, but you all know how easy it is to get more and they know now that you are serious about bans and striking.
But after 4years you really havent got any further with Hrly rate.
So that must be a priority next time and sorting out this D&D.Now this is not afair system at all.
To expensive for what you get.
Well thankyou to all who have helped us and our familys.
Family Member of an Ambo
Its funny that Rik hasnt been on for awhile.Maybe hes upset about being caught out about his wife being a superintendant, with a 28% increase.
Good advice in the past Rik glad no one listened this time.
If my spelling is bad well bad luck Pal!!!!!!dont read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sorry but I only see this as a stay of execution.
You might say don't be negative,
But how many times have you heard.
"We are confident with the submissions that they will rule in our favour"
Same old dance.
In 4-6 weeks time you will be wanting action again.
Only this time the public will think.
"Not the ambo's again, didn't they just get a pay rise?"
You know it because we all think it about the teachers.
So sorry to rain on your short lived win but thats what it is SHORT.
Just some information i heard today from a good source and i know it is irrelevant from our wage case but it makes me all fuzzy and warm, the NSWFB will lose HAZMAT it is believed that it will be privately given to a public tender and i am not talking about fuel or minor leaks post MVA. i was also told they would lose all urban search and rescue roles to be given to the police as a primary response. it is also believed the Gov are reducing the role of the nswfb to due their blow out budget, also many retained stations in the country will close and be handed over to the rfs, this is already in the pipe line, lets wait and see.
Anyone heard anything about the 5 Fireys doing the paramedic course at Sturt at the moment?
