Hi there, fellow ambo's.
How many times can we be shafted? Ripped off pay wise, ripped off workload wise, under-staffed, over-worked, treated like shit in general by management, not looked after by the State Government, not to mention a piss-weak union.
A few of us have put together this site to allow real ambos to have their say, unfiltered by bosses, governments or union reps. You can have your say, too, in the comments. Dear HSU,
This break-up letter should come as no surprise nor cause any heartache to someone as cold hearted as you. Time and again I've tried to get you to show me how much you care. Time and again I've been rudely rebuffed.
I have emotions. I have needs. I have love to express. But, Mr. Selfish, you just don't care that you make me feel like my needs, emotions, and pay and disability benefits are just not important. Well news flash, HSU, they are! So, after years I'm ending this charade of a relationship in hopes of finding someone who is emotionally mature enough to take care of me like I need to be.
Don't come crawling back on your hands and knees asking me to get lubed up and on mine, because I don't have to put up with that from you or anyone.
You see, to me and people who aren't dead inside like you, our pay demands and death & disability benefits are reasonable requests. They let me know that I am special and very important to you. The ironic things is how you always talked of taking our relationship to the next level, but you're just a Union of words, not actions. You gave me lip service and I wanted my needs serviced. I mean, what's more intimate and meaningful than sweet beautiful cash? You can keep your vows and veils and rings and ceremonies. I want something that actually means something. A pay rise is infinitely more meaningful than a trip down the aisle. It says that what we have is something special, something so important to both of us that it can only be expressed by actions.
But no... you say its dirty. It's wrong. It goes against the god-almighty government. Well boo-fucking-hoo. To us in the real world with hearts that function, that's called love. You don't have to sugar coat it, I know how you really feel about me. Its obvious that you're just hiding behind those absurd reasons because I am not the one for you. I truly hope you find some other poor deluded fools that you can bend over, jelly up, and screw over completely.
But it ain't gonna be me. Sadly, my love, I've got better things to do than being screwed over again and again.
Love,
Realambo

NSW ambos to continue free patient ride
Nick Ralston
July 25, 2008
Ambulance officers will continue giving NSW patients a free ride until at least Monday, while they consider the industrial watchdog's request they stop the action.
The Health Services Union (HSU) began the industrial action at noon (AEST) on Thursday, after the NSW government failed to meet its deadline to employ 300 new officers.
The union also wants NSW Ambulance Service chief executive Greg Rochford fired.
Officers are refusing to collect paperwork to bill patients until their demands are met.
The service took the matter to the NSW Industrial Relations Commission (IRC), which recommended the union "cease all current industrial action".
The IRC also said the union should "refrain from further industrial action".
HSU general secretary Michael Williamson said he took the IRC recommendation seriously, but officers would continue to give free rides to patients until at least Monday, when they planned to discuss their next step.
"I think we want to get a feel from the delegates about how they now want to proceed with this," Mr Williamson told AAP.
"We'll be in a position on Monday to give everyone the answer then."
The refusal to charge patients is expected to cost the NSW government up to $1.5 million a week.
The HSU has called for Mr Rochford's sacking, saying its members, who comprise about 95 per cent of ambulance officers, want one of their own to run the service instead of bureaucrats.
They claim Mr Rochford has failed to stamp out a culture of bullying and does not know what frontline workers are experiencing on a daily basis.
Mr Rochford has repeatedly refused calls to stand aside.
Premier Morris Iemma and Health Minister Reba Meagher have said Mr Rochford has their full backing.

'This is not about the money': Ambos union boss
The NSW ambulance service want their CEO sacked and replaced by a uniformed officer after being pushed to breaking point.
Hundreds of ambulance officers marched along Macquarie Street this morning to coincide with an inquiry into the ambulance service.
Paramedics said they are at breaking point from being forced to work 14 hour shifts without a break.
Ambulance officer Ray Tait says part of the problem comes from current ambulance boss Greg Rochford, who isn't a sworn officer.
"The difference today is ... that when we had a uniformed head we had someone who knew operationally what we were going through on the streets.
"The people we've got administrating us now have absolutely no idea what we do," he said
The NSW ambulance service inquiry has also been told many regional paramedics are leaving town on their days off to escape being on call 24 hours a day.
With the amount of ambulance officer resignations doubling since 2002, Michael Williamson from the NSW Health Union says action is needed now.
“This is not about wages, this is about community standards and service delivery,” he said.
He says there's currently a 300 person shortfall and it's putting lives in jeopardy.
Paramedics are giving patients free transport today in a move costing the Government millions.
They say the Government has 48 hours to come up with a solution or else the industrial action will continue.
Hunter ambos to march on NSW Parliament

Updated Tue Jul 22, 2008 10:00am AEST
More than 80 Hunter Valley ambulance officers will join a march on New South Wales Parliament today to protest against what they claim is ongoing mismanagement within the service.
Local officers recently accepted a 2.5 per cent pay rise, averting threatened strike action, but say a parliamentary inquiry into the service does not address management problems.
Health Services Union organiser Peter Rumball says the inquiry has heard many examples of bullying and harassment of ambulance officers at work.
"We've got a number of officers here that have given evidence to that committee and we'll be giving further evidence to it over the next couple of weeks," he says.
"Basically we want the Government to look at how the Ambulance Service is managed and how we've got into the state we are and who's put us there and to be able to rectify that problem so we can go back to ambulance officers feeling safe at work."
AMBULANCE officers in New South Wales have voted to continue work bans despite being ordered by the NSW Industrial Relations Commission to stop industrial action.
The ambulance officers have been refusing to charge patients for their trips to hospitals, costing the State Government an estimated $1.5 million a week in lost revenue.
Health Services Union secretary Michael Williamson said the officers' anger was at fever pitch over staff shortages.
"There has never been a time in recent history that ambulance officers have decided to defy the NSW Industrial Relations Commission in such a militant manner," he said today.
Union delegates met this morning to consider the orders made by the industrial relations commission on Friday and agreed to continue their industrial campaign, Mr Williamson said.
"The future for NSW ambos is at a clear crossroads. They will continue to defy the Industrial Relations Commission despite any formal orders being made against them," he said.
Mr Williamson said acute staff shortages were pushing officers to the point of exhaustion with officers working extremely long hours.
Industrial action began on Thursday after the Government failed to meet a union demand for the replacement of NSW Ambulance Service chief executive Greg Rochford and the employment of 300 new staff.
It said its members, who comprise about 95 per cent of ambulance officers, wanted one of their own to run the service instead of a bureaucrat.
The union said Mr Rochford had failed to stamp out a culture of bullying and did not know what frontline workers were experiencing on a daily basis.
An ambulance officer was told his career was "absolutely over" after senior management learned he was being bullied on the job, an inquiry has heard.
An officer for 16 years, Tim Castle was working in Bathurst, in NSW's central west, when he was struck by a motorbike travelling at 120km/h at a motocross event in July 2002.
Mr Castle suffered multiple spinal fractures and was told he was lucky to be alive, but he returned to work three and a half months later carrying out light duties.
Speaking on Monday at a parliamentary inquiry into the NSW Ambulance Service, he said he had been bullied and harassed from his first day back on the job.
Mr Castle told the inquiry the bullying continued through his rehabilitation, coming to a head when NSW Ambulance Service executives toured the region in 2003.
He said he was warned by his area superintendent not to raise his issues with the executives but to leave his colleagues to do it on his behalf.
When an executive asked Mr Castle about his problems, he told them he was willing to talk but in "another forum".
For the next two hours, his regional superintendent sat across from him giving "the foulest, most intimidating looks the whole time", he told the inquiry.
"The minute the door was closed of the CEO of the ambulance service's car, my regional superintendent came up and put his hand on my shoulder," Mr Castle told the inquiry.
"And (he) said, `You've just f***ed yourself, son. Your career is absolutely over. I'm going to see you out. You're yesterday's news,' and walked away.
"That's my experience of compassion."
Mr Castle was medically retired from the service a short time later, in October 2003, despite working 40 hours and five days a week at that time.
He was the last person to give evidence at the public hearings of the inquiry, which is focused on bullying and harassment in the service.
It has so far received 247 submissions. Many hearings have had to be held in private, with serving officers fearing retribution if they take part.
NSW Ambulance Service chief executive Greg Rochford on Monday told the inquiry an education program would be established to better deal with bullying and workplace harassment.
However, Mr Rochford is facing resistance within the ranks of ambulance officers, who have vowed to continue giving patients free rides until he resigns.
The Health Services Union (HSU) on Monday said its members would continue the industrial action, which began last Thursday, despite a recommendation from the NSW Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) to stop.
The union said its members want 300 more ambulance officers hired and Mr Rochford to be replaced by a uniformed head.

Who was Tim Castle's bullying manager. Is he still in the job? Lets out the bastard.
Hey its all about extra staff boys !!! oh... and getting rid of Rotchford ???
IS IT ...????? I dont think so... spoke to 23 officers in my area today and not one of them wants more staff or gives a shit wether Rorchford stays or goes !! What they are all jumping up and down about though is the shitty pay that we get.
Hey i also spoke to a couple of them who have only just recently resigned from the HSU and guess what .... they phoned them up and asked them why ??? can you believe that ?? maybe they are finally getting the message.
Fuck you ambo drivers are stupid...Its because of ROCHFORD that you haven't got your pay rise and appropriate conditions.
It is HE who tells the ambo H/R to argue and fight against your claims.
How long did it take him to get you a descent working uniform?
Fucking idiots, the whole sorry lot.
Your union funds go partly towards funding the Labor Party's electoral costs who in turn say "no" to your pay claims through ROCHFORD.
Now it is the govt who says that ROCHFORD will stay no matter what.
What a slap in the face and you dick heads won't even listen to Ray Tait and his crew who are fighting for your rights.
Say the follwing real slowly;
"o H, I D O N T C A R E
W H O T H E B O S S I S I J U S T W A N T
M E M O N E Y."
"Ba ba ambo have you any wool...No sir no sir, we are screwed."
300 extra staff= 300 more union members= more money in Williamson's pocket
more staff means LESS overtime so LESS money in your pockets
Rochford is the CEO who approves EVERYTHING
Rochford is the bully boy and Willis is his butt plug...read the submissions to the enquiry and I dare you to say afterwards you long to belong to this organisation.
I am disgusted in the whole pathetic lot of them and can't wait to retire and write my best seller exposing them all for what they are.
Poor lost souls,
I applauded your succinct remarks. Good on you mate.
However, I do think that the 300 extra staff is worthwhile as it doesn't even make up the shortfall of the [circa] 25% loss of sworn officers over the last few years.
What beggar’s belief is that if ANY organisation lost staff in such numbers, then huge questions would have been asked by the Board of Directors.
Well, we don't have such a Board any more, not that they did much anyway, to apply “due diligence” to such issues.
The sheer economic cost of paying the resigning staff out in the first place, throwing their uniforms away, advertising, recruiting, training and retaining skilled staff is enormous.
The ASNSW balance sheet mustn't look at such matters otherwise heads would have rolled.
If one of my CEO's came to me with such figures, my Board would have long asked him/her some very serious questions and probably asked them to go.
Because you are in the public service and seemingly unaccountable, this poor management is allowed to pass.
Now that there is no Board of Directors and no staff elected director, there is no local and direct financial oversight and accountability.
The wash out of all this is that to keep the ASNSW functioning, overtime has to be paid.
Lower than normal staff numbers also makes it easier to control your staff.
To fund the 25% [continual] loss of staff, money has to be found to make up the shortfall in numbers which ends up being taken from his total budget allocations.
There goes your pay rise. Which you can't get 'cause it’s being used to shore up staff numbers and not raise them.
Because you have such low moral and there is an Australian wide skills shortage with low unemployment, staff numbers are low and will remain low.
Therefore, you can see that because Rochford has harboured bullies and we lose staff because of his stupidity, you don't get a pay rise.
Its not rocket science brothers and sisters, its not rocket science.
Do you like my economic rendition, Spider/Greg? The figures are there, just release them for all to see.
P.A.P.
Come on all you HSU deligates ... hasn't even one of you got the balls to dare Michael Williamson to email all the members and ask them what " THEY " want... and then publish the results ???
Come on ... lets see how many of the few HSU members that are still left after the hundreds that have left still have faith in him ???
The only reason most of you are still there is FEAR... fear that even bad guidence is better than none at all ....PATHETIC !
95 percent of ambos in the HSU!!! Those figures sound very very inflated. They may have been correct 10 years ago but not now with the amount of people growing a brain and leaving this pathetic union. IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY.....MY ARSE IT'S NOT!!!! Williamson does not and never will have our best interests at heart.
money vs staff
let's think for a minute:
1. More staff = media and public totally on side, great PR for later wage case
2. More staff = being able to take lsl, study leave, lwop, etc when YOU want it
3. More staff = not getting flogged every minute of every shift meaning more down time and rest for your second job!
4. More staff = 2 to a car in the bush, even when on call
5. More staff = politicians look like complete arseholes when they try to deny you need more bums on seats
and then:
1. More Money = Polies look responsible fiscally by refusing to give it to you
2. More Money = public think you are just greedy like all the rest of the unions
I just can't wait for the negative comments to come pouring in, but I think HSU have got the right formula this time. albiet a few years late.
Get the public on side, grab every additional probie you can while you can, THEN hit 'em for the dollars. even the IRC will smile at you !!
Like I said, bring on the negative comments...I personally believe you all need about 20% extra, but the WAY you go about your wage case, and I have done a few, can give the best results.
Just make sure they make it retrospective to the start of the new skills !!
Good Luck
Rik Shepherd
Oh and PS quit bagging each other out on this site, you look like a bunch of tempramental 3 year olds, hardly the professionals you really are
Hey Rick please pass on my regards to the missus for me will you. A very gutsy lady indeed mate. She always did but even more so now has my utter respect and admiration.
thanks Psycho, i think Louise is pretty good too !!

Industrial
A threat of industrial action by NSW Ambulance Service officers looms on Thursday unless the state government sacks their boss Greg Rochford.
The Health Services Union (HSU) has given the NSW government until 11am (AEST) to meet their demands for Mr Rochford's dismissal and the recruitment of 300 new officers.
If those conditions are not met, the union says it will embark on unspecified industrial action.
Mr Rochford, the service's chief executive, indicated on Wednesday he wasn't going anywhere, saying he believes he has the support of his ambulance managers.
Experienced paramedics have told a parliamentary inquiry many officers want Mr Rochford and other bureaucrats replaced and one of their own to run the service.
They said it was only appropriate given the police and fire brigade were run by uniformed heads.
They also say the NSW Ambulance Service head office has failed to properly deal with instances of bullying in the service.
Mr Rochford accepted that criticism but condemned the union tactics.
He said he would welcome more officers, but the service did not need an additional 300 and it would be better served by the expansion of a non-emergency patient transport service.
Mr Rochford said this area of work ate up a great deal of ambulance officer time and called on the HSU to work with the NSW Ambulance Service to lobby for the expansion.
Poor lost souls,
Yeah, lighten up a little and listen to Rik and Psycho just a little...
I know that most ambos are Rabbitohs supporters. Just read this one...
Its a little dated, but hey, its still good news.
Updated: Rabbitohs 32 DEFEAT Eels 20
12 Jul 2008
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have won their fifth-straight game with a convincing 32 points to 20 victory over the Parramatta Eels at ANZ Stadium in front of 17,897 Members and fans.
The Rabbitohs went into their customary trailing position, down 10-nil after just 13 minutes, however they regrouped much quicker than they have in games over the past month to lead at the break 16-10.
The Eels scored early tries through Mark Riddell and Jarryd Hayne with Luke Burt kicking one conversion, but the young South Sydney side held it together and struck back with vigour.
Centre Beau Champion was the first to cross the stripe in the 17th minute after fullback Nathan Merritt made a long break to set up the try.
12 minutes later, rookie centre Jamie Simpson scored on the other side of the park when he followed through an accurate grubber kick from halfback Chris Sandow to touch down. Issac Luke converted to level the scores at 10-all.
Nine minutes later it was Simpson again who bamboozled the Eels’ left hand side defence with a classic show-and-go move. Luke’s conversion from the sideline gave the Rabbitohs a six point advantage at the break.
The Eels struck back in the 45th minute through Krisnan Inu but the red and greens didn’t let that get to them.
Back-rower Shannan McPherson scored a try in the 53rd minute which was converted by Chris Sandow to regain the six-point lead.
In the 62nd minute, a rejuvenated Shannon Hegarty scored in the left hand corner, streaking 20 metres down the left hand touch line in a classic winger’s finish.
In the 74th minute, Issac Luke sealed the win when he charged over from an inside ball from Sandow. Luke converted his own try to take the scores to 32-16.
The Eels scored a try through Inu in the 78th minute but it was all too late for them as the Rabbitohs registerd their fifth straight win and their 12th competition point in six weeks.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Jason Taylor said: “I’m very please with the performance.”
“It is much closer to an 80 minute performance than we’ve been putting in lately. We got behind by 10 early which is better than where we have been.
“We were methodical and our defence was much better tonight. We did well.”
Taylor quashed any talks of the finals at this stage.
“There’s a long way to go. We’ve got to play tough teams every week from here on in,” he said.
“We’re not talking about it (the finals). We’ve still got things we have to work on.”
Captain Roy Asotasi said: “The confidence in the team is pretty good. We’re enjoying our footy and we want to enjoy the rest of our games.”
“Parramatta was a test for us tonight so we want to take the two points and move on to next week. We need to start better, especially against top four sides.”
The Rabbitohs now move on to play the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium next Sunday 20 July at 3pm.
South Sydney Rabbitohs 32 (Jamie Simpson 2, Beau Champion, Shannan McPherson, Shannon Hegarty, Issac Luke tries; Issac Luke 3, Chris Sandow goals)
defeated
Parramatta Eels 20 (Krisnan Inu 2, Mark Riddell, Jarryd Hayne tries; Luke Burt 2 goals)

Local ambos set to join union rally in Sydney
BY BELINDA GALLOWAY
22/07/2008 9:02:00 AM
Ambulance officers and their families including some from Dubbo will rally outside Parliament House today to launch a “Save Our Service” campaign.
It’s expected that up to 300 officers will march to NSW Parliament House in Sydney.
Ambulance officers said they were frustrated over a lack of support as the 11th review in eight years into the ambulance service is conducted by an Upper House committee on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the Health Service Union said ambulance officers were the most trusted profession in NSW and were under enormous pressure to save lives.
“The recent release of the 10th review completed by the Department of Premier and Cabinet largely did not grapple with the real problems - understaffing, workplace bullying and a lack of resources for ambos to do their jobs properly,” Health Services Union general secretary Michael Williamson said.
According to Mr Williamson ambulance officers were on the edge.
“Crew numbers have stayed relatively static for the last decade. Demand soars by 5 to 10 per cent every year. Review after review into the service has not fixed these problems, and now with this Premier’s Department review they have had enough,” he said.
Mr Williamson also said there was an urgent need for an immediate surge of an extra 300 ambulance paramedics this year, along with 60 extra patient transport officers.
“We need the immediate removal of the senior management who have been asleep at the wheel. We need a new management team to step up and sort out the service and the future community needs on a proper planned and resourced basis for 2009 onwards,” he said.
Mr Williamson said the plight of this profession was continually ignored - to the detriment of the community . He added that the Health Services Union, which represents ambulance officers, has continually called for change in the ambulance service but members now felt the time had come for critical action to take place in order to fix a very broken service.
The Health Service Union said work bans would continue until a breakthrough was achieved.

"Meagher Must Address Ambulance Woes
Written by Jillian Skinner MP
Saturday, 26 July 2008
Shadow Minister for Health Jillian Skinner today called on Health Minister Reba Meagher to address concerns that led to ambulance officers taking industrial action this week.
The Industrial Relations Commission has ordered an end to the action, which the ambulance officers will address when they meet on Monday.
“This action has been based on problems identified by the ambulance union in evidence to the NSW Parliamentary Inquiry this week, including a 2001 Industrial Relations Commission report finding a shortfall of 300 Ambulance officers,” Mrs Skinner said.
“If it’s good enough for the union to obey the IRC ruling to end industrial ruling, then it should be good enough for the government to act on addressing the staffing shortfall it identified.
“Ambulance officers claim that the staffing shortfalls are the root cause of most of their problems.
“They dismiss Ms Meagher’s claims that extra staff have been employed as the usual ‘spin’ which doesn’t acknowledge the 593 officers who have quit since 2003 – as revealed in FOI data obtained by the Coalition.
“Reba Meagher has mouthed platitudes about the NSW Ambulance Services for long enough – she should ensure the Health Department sits down to negotiate solutions to the problems they have identified including:
The fact that it’s not unusual for ambulance officers to do 14 hour shifts, sometimes without meal breaks;
The is high incidence of complaints not being followed up;
Single-person crews which continue to be a problem in some areas of the State, including the Hunter;
Ambulance officers suffering low morale; as they feel they lack the support of the management of the ambulance Service, and
Officers do not support the option to disband the Ambulance Rescue Service being canvassed by the Iemma Government.
“The inquiry has previously heard of the culture of bullying and harassment within the Service but perhaps even more concerning is Reba Meagher and the Iemma Labor Government’s failure to act,” Mrs Skinner said."

The ambulance officers have been refusing to charge patients for their trips to hospitals, costing the state government an estimated $1.5 million per week in lost revenue.
Health Services Union secretary Michael Williamson said the officers' anger was at fever pitch over staff shortages.
"There has never been a time in recent history that ambulance officers have decided to defy the NSW Industrial Relations Commission in such a militant manner," he said on Monday.
Union delegates met this morning to consider the orders made by the industrial relations commission on Friday and agreed to continue their industrial campaign, Williamson said in a statement.
"The future for NSW ambos is at a clear crossroads. They will continue to defy the Industrial Relations Commission despite any formal orders being made against them," he said.
Williamson said acute staff shortages were pushing officers to the point of exhaustion with officers working extremely long hours."
At least it appaers that Williamson is out there more than he is being given credit for.
P.A.P.
Get with the times P.A.P
Ambo's taking industrial action.
Thats last weeks news.
The HSU has dropped the ball again.
Lifted the bans for a meeting with Reba.
Then discussed shit that we weren't even taking the action over.
There will be no more industrial action.
Williamson has been told by his political allies to go in a different direction.
We are screwed.
Thanks HSU
AGAIN.
Poor lost souls,
I hear ya mate...I hear ya.
Ok, so I am little dated
with some of this.
But its good to read that there are GREAT people like Peter Rumball out there.
Peter is famous for being "up front and personal" with this lot.
How many times have they sacked him and STILL he gets back in?
They have tried it all, and he has more lives than a cat.
I am just trying to keep the fires burning.
It looks like Jillian Skinner is doing as best as she can for you.

"AN ambulance staffing crisis is forcing rookies with just nine weeks’ training onto the streets to try to save lives without proper supervision.
One in three NSW Ambulance Service officers is a trainee because experienced staff are quitting in record numbers, fed up with being overworked and underpaid, front-line sources say.
Last year there were twice as many resignations as in 2002.
Tensions among those left behind are said to have reached breaking point, the sources say, with suicide attempts increasing.
One senior officer said patient care was being compromised by the exodus of experienced officers.
“Make no mistake, patients have died because of this and they will continue to die,” she said.
A copy of the service’s 2007 corporate culture survey leaked to The Sun-Herald paints a grim portrait of chronically poor morale and employees who feel undervalued, restricted in how they go about their work and disengaged from decision-making processes.
The vast majority believe their supervisors do not deal effectively with key issues such as stress, excessive workloads, absenteeism, harassment and bullying, and are not addressing their concerns about industrial relations.
NSW Health Minister Reba Meagher last week countered criticisms of the service’s capabilities by pointing to the recruitment of 327 personnel over the past four years.
However, Freedom of Information figures obtained by the Opposition and seen by The Sun-Herald show 475 resignations over the same period.
Novice ambulance attendants who might normally spend more than a year teamed up with two fully qualified partners are being thrown in the deep end, sources say.
A NSW Ambulance Service spokesman insisted trainees were placed under “close supervision at all times” but Health Services Union Hunter Valley officer Peter Rumball disputed this, saying the practice of pairing trainees with a single unqualified trainer to save money was commonplace.
Mr Rumball said the union had repeatedly raised concerns about how one senior officer was supposed to supervise a trainee when he or she had more than one patient to treat at a time, or if the pair had to split up, or one had to stay with a patient while the other drove to hospital or went off to retrieve equipment.
“Officers who come straight out of the service’s rescue school get no supervision or mentoring at all,” Mr Rumball said.
“They are classed as fully qualified even though they have never undertaken a rescue.”
A paramedic with 10 years’ experience said rookies were being pushed onto the front line without proper regard for the consequences.
“You have a situation where they are performing extremely demanding tasks without the proper supervision and that is where errors can be made,” she said.
“The way the roster system is set up is that at training stations there should be 10 fully qualified officers.
“But how it is now is that out of those 10, two or three are trainee officers and are actually not qualified but they are rostered on to fill out those positions.
“The trainees are being used to fill the holes and are just thrown straight in.”
Opposition health spokeswoman Jillian Skinner said the number of calls she was receiving from ambulance officers in distress outstripped even those from within the ranks of the state’s 40,000 nurses.
“This issue is all about long-suffering ambulance officers who are under enormous stress, not getting any support and burning out,” Ms Skinner said.
“The fact that they’re resigning at a faster rate than ever before speaks for itself.
“What we’re talking about is people at the coalface being forced to bear the brunt when, instead, it should be the Government dealing with it.”
Mr Rumball said his concerns about stress levels of the job were grave, and he knew of five colleagues who had attempted suicide in the past few years.

Poor lost souls,
Rabbitohs 18 Warriors 16 - how CHOICE is that???
P.A.P.
Poor lost souls;
"NSW Ambulance Service boss Greg Rochford is digging in amid threats ambulance officers will take industrial action unless he's sacked.
The Health Services Union (HSU) has given the state government until 1100 (AEST) Thursday to meet their demands for Mr Rochford's dismissal and the recruitment of 300 new officers.
If those conditions are not met, the union says it will embark on unspecified industrial action.
Mr Rochford, the service's chief executive, indicated he wasn't going anywhere, saying he believes he has the support of his ambulance managers.
"I've been buoyed by the support I've received, particularly in recent days," he told Macquarie Radio.
Mr Rochford said he accepted that criticism.
"I think we have to pay much stronger attention to that than we have in the past," he said.
But Mr Rochford criticised the union tactics of giving the state government an ultimatum to meet its demands or face industrial action.
"I think we'd have a much stronger argument if we did it together," he said.
"If they used our planning information and we used their passion to get a joint ambulance service submission up, I think that would be better."
The call for an expanded transport patient system came as it was revealed ambulances were being used as a taxi service to the local shops by some older residents in western Sydney".
They use their pensioner entitlements to get a free ride in an ambulance to their local town centre, where they miraculously recover from feigned ailments and go shopping, News Ltd reported.
This man is "dumber than dog shit" and so is the Statre Labor Government who are backing his at their perril.
He won't last long and neither will Willis.
So who do we have to run the ASNSW after all of this?
No one.

Poor lost souls,
Ambulance staff dread return of boss
NATASHA WALLACE HEALTH REPORTER
28/07/2008 12:00:01 AM
"THE former boss of an ambulance station in western NSW is being returned there as an officer despite an external investigation largely substantiating more than 50 allegations of bullying and harassment made against him over the past 10 years.
Several former officers at Wellington station have either resigned, transferred or gone on stress leave, saying they could no longer work there while Rodney Althofer, 63, was manager. The Herald understands a six-month external investigation by Kamira Stacey Consulting found more than 50 allegations against him were mostly substantiated.
Today marks the final hearing day of a parliamentary inquiry into the NSW Ambulance Service, which has been inundated with submissions on bullying and harassment and complaints about poor handling of grievances.
Investigators interviewed about a dozen officers who had worked at Wellington for the report, which was completed midway through last year.
However, the service has kept that report secret and did not act on the matter until last week.
The chief executive of the service, Greg Rochford, has also refused to release to staff the service's response to the report.
The Herald spoke to seven former and serving Wellington ambulance officers, as well as the partners of two others, all of whom alleged bullying by Mr Althofer. Three alleged that he told them not to bother buying property in the area because he would run them out of town.
The officers described Mr Althofer, a warrant officer in the navy for 20 years, as a "military-style", micromanaging authoritarian who screamed at, and publicly humiliated, staff.
They are also furious at management for failing to deal with the problem for so long.
They were devastated to learn at a staff meeting on Tuesday that Mr Althofer would be returning within two weeks - although as an ambulance officer and not in his original job as station manager. They were told an external mediator would be available to work through any problems.
One ambulance officer immediately went on stress leave upon hearing the news and another is seeking a transfer. There are only six full-time ambulance officers at the station.
An email from a former western division officer, sent to the parliamentary inquiry last month, said it was "one of the most investigated and documented accounts of bullying and harassment that I have seen in my experience".
The email, which has been seen by the Herald , said "[The manager] has previously been stood down for harassment of staff over the years and has also been sent to anger management courses, this you will find in the [Kamira] report".
The Herald understands the Kamira investigation was prompted after the service received three formal complaints of bullying in one week in late 2006 - two from Wellington officers and one from a doctor at the local hospital.
A former officer, who worked there for 18 months until mid-2000, said he went on workers' compensation due to stress from being bullied by Mr Althofer.
The final straw was when Mr Althofer "chased me across the road yelling at me … in the main street of Wellington", he said. "They found that he needed to attend an anger management course and he refused to do it."
Another former Wellington officer said Mr Althofer would hide behind trees near the station on his days off and check what time staff turned up for work.
Mr Althofer denies any bullying and harassment of staff. "I've always tried to get ambulance officers to do what they are supposed to do and because of the culture of the ambulance service they simply don't do what they're supposed to do.
"They breach the code of conduct on a daily basis and all I ever did was to try and get people to do what they're supposed to do," he told the Herald .
He said he offered to return as an ambulance officer, and not the manager, because of "all the stress of trying to manage people who don't want to do their job".
"I was bullied and harassed," Mr Althofer said.
The service would not comment except to confirm there had been an investigation at Wellington "involving interpersonal dealings between colleagues".
P.A.P.
Hey PAP why are you posting all the old news? What happened to John Stonestreet? Didn't he have something to do with that dickhead from Wellington. Did you see the photo of him in the paper showing off his Citizen of the Year certificate. Sounds like a typical country SO from the old school to me.
Hi mate,
I put this stuff up just to keep the ball rolling.
I don't know what ever became of John Stonestreet other than hearing that he and Ankles swapped the A/O/M jobs many years ago.
I only ever met John once and that was at Rozelle when he was the industrial relations superintendent just prior to Louise Hennessy getting the nod.
He seemed to be a descent sort of bloke who never bothered anyone in particular.
He's just like most of us...we like to be liked and we try our best. Most times we seem to get it right, and other times we don't.
This job is far too hard and tough to see good people turn on each other.
It should be an enjoyable part of our lives and not a black part of it.
All that is needed is our leaders to show leadership. Sadly, is has never really existed and especially over the last five to seven years.
We are over managed and under lead.
I had a chat to a retired Assistant Police Commissioner the other day who is well known for knowing all his staff by their first names; all of their wives/husbands/partners and all of their kids names as bloody well. This is for a man who commands over over 5k staff.
He personally calls and visits a great many of them when he haers that things aren't going all that well for them.
What a guy???
Take care mate, we should have a beer or two at the Graphic Arts Club or the Taxi Club one night.
Now that's another story on its own.
P.A.P.
We used to have some bosses like that but sadly they are all gone now, gone to the big HQ Christmas Party in the sky. Do those clubs even still exist? I have no idea.
Hi anon...
Mate those days are gone. The feminists and the unsworn intelligencia just faded them all away and before you know it. Now you are having cold and soggy sandwiches and NO beer out in the dark somewhere with a bunch of hairy legged politically correct man haters.
We used to have port and home made alcoholic ginger beer in styrothome cups in my coordination centre on night shift.
You beauty...!
Then we used to pull out an old gas barbeque and have a sausage sizzle up on the old awning at HQ and then stick our heads out the window and have a smoke!.
Well, we weren't technically still in the building now were we?
The PSCU would have us hung drawn and quartered for such devious and "unprofessional" actions.
Fuck em!
Bring back the good old days, I reckon.
P.A.P.
PAP I have a video taken in the old Co-Ord that would incriminate the same people who make the rules these days hehehe. I was there in the days when we could still smoke in there. I can remember it being so busy I lit a smoke and looked down to see 2 others burning in the ashtray. Mate I like you pine for the old days but yeah sad to say those days are long gone. You could see them slowly coming to an end around 1986 I reckon and it went downhill rapidly after that except for a period in 1988 when we were given a probationer who really was the country's Bi-Centenary's gift to the ambulance service or ambulance as we are now known. You watching Bruce? That pisses me off too. Who came up with plain old ambulance? I thought an ambulance was the thing we rode in.
Heya nose,
Send me a copy of that bloody video [DVD format], you bastard.
I never knew that you kept it after all these years AND you especially after you assured me that it was gone.
I am in the book or send me an e-mail to:
My first intial and then my surname at Hotmail.
Eg, tplow@Hotmail.com
You are a national treasure and must be a potentially very rich man because you have the goods on most of us.
Man alive there is real folding money out there just for the taking.
You know what I said is true 'cause you participated in many a smoking and moonshine session in the old room with all of us playing computer games on our home PC's that we brought in for the shift...
Lights off and here comes the "cold coffee; car calling hickup, hickup?"
Then it was off to Mal's early opener for a hot sausage sandwich, more than a few schooners of Toohey's New and early morning porn videos on tne huge screenand all before 7am.
Those were the days my friend, those were the days my friend, we'd sing and dance for ever and a day."
Yeah, I would remember bloody psycho, animal and "Paranoid Pete" having a great time calling Joe O'Leary out to bullshit jobs in tne middle of a cold winters night just to piss him off.
"OLeary KJ, I can't find that accident, over."
"Its all cleared up Sir, you can go now home thanks."
We'd all be pissing ourselves trying to stop laughing our half drunken heads off.
Aha!
P.A.P.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that is bloody true. Psycho used to run that bloody show and none of the bosses knew it but we did. Bloody O'Leary. I forgot about that old bastard. Psycho could get them all going with a dead straight face and they would all fall for it.
Heya nose,
I am with you about bloody psycho.
It was good when he and Kevin Gillard were on shift... You didn't have to do much 'cause they did it all for you.
Except for when "Paranoid Pete" was on and began ordering everybody to do all the bullshit crap under the sun.
He never got any of our "cold coffee."
Des Scotcher and Lynchy were great to work with too.
P.A.P.
You blokes are giving me too much credit. Hey Gillard and I only did everything for you 'cause we wanted it done properly. Wonder where Gillard is these days. Probably dead. I can't remember doing anything nasty to those superintendent types though hehehe. Must have lost my memory or something. Boy i would love for them to give me the job of getting these bloody radio rooms back on track. They can't control to save their bloody lives and that MDT bullshit is a total waste of money as we knew it would be. The only reason they changed was because the old belt system wasn't state of the art. It worked better than what we have now and if it was put back in it still would. Give me the job and I will get this mob back on track but you better be prepared to pay me for it. I don't come cheap these days hehe......
Psycho,
You are talking common sense which is a frightening thing these days.
You remember the "cold coffee" on nights don't you?
I don't know what ever happened to Kev. Last I heard he tried to get back in - was knocked back and ended up laying carpet with his family business somewhere in Sydney's west.
As I recall, he had a lot more hair than you ever did!
P.A.P.
You can't grow grass on a busy street mate. I remember a lot of things from those days. It was a good time to be in the job. I was only a young bloke then and sleep was something we only did on our days off. Come to think of it some things never changed. I moved to the bush for a quieter life and have never worked so much in my life. As us old blokes say now 180 points and 30 years mate. That is all I dream about these days.
bring back the bans
the CEO has to go
RESCUE is the only way forward
the head review should be renamed the nsw treasurey review
solidarity forever, lets stick together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fucking A nigel!
Can anyone tell me what happen to the demands we had on,
My delegate can't give me a striaght answer, he is even scratching his head.
What are we doing?
Confused
"Can anyone tell me what happen to the demands we had on,
My delegate can't give me a striaght answer, he is even scratching his head.
What are we doing?"
The last thing I heard was that the delegates were to meet with the health minister and up until then the bans were to be stopped. That was the last I heard. Did they meet? What did they talk about? Did they get rid of Mr Roachford (as channel 7 news called him...nice) did they have a cup of tea and scones, who knows. One thing we do know is that the HSU has accepted the 3.9% pay rise for all health workers including us (seperate to our wage claim) backdated to the 1/7/08/ That is 3.9% per year for 3 years. Roachford and his lutenants (I can't spell lieutenant so on't ask me to) and start again. That is the only way. There are some great bosses out there, yeah I know where well we just need to look harder and I am sure they are there. Greg Hansen for starters.
Stop asking STUPID questions .... ! has anything been done yet ? are the bans still on ? did we have another meeting ? did the HSU do what we ask ????????????
For fucks sake !!!! the HSU have sold you up the river a long time ago... you are on your bloody own guys... what is it going to take for you to see that. ((( YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN !!! ))).
Michael Williamson does not give a shit about me or you ? the only thing he is interested in is getting more ambos so he will have more members and can say to the labour government... look, i control xxxxx number of voting ambos how about a seat in parliment !
I just cannot believe that there are still so many scared sheep paying for this jerks Merc and flamboyant lifestyle in the vain hope that he will go against his buddys and start working for the baggy arsed ambo ?
WAKE UP !!!
Greg Hansens a prick!!! I'm glad he's leaving.
"Greg Hansens a prick!!! I'm glad he's leaving"
There's your answer right there. Greg doesn't suffer fools gladly so you must be a fool hahaha.
No I just found him to be extremely rude!!!
Greg Hansen is a good mate of mine and a top bloody bloke. There should be a hundred more just like him.
I think he must of created the MUPPETS we work for
Terry Watson [A/O/M/ Hunter] is another great bloke.
He was "The Ambo Of The Year" not so long ago.
A Mullumbimby boy and HSU member through and through.
Where is everyone? All sitting down working out how you are going to spend your 3.9% eh hehehehehehehehehehehehehe.
Hi agree with you mate. Those old control room days were the best - we did our job, helped out our mates and trusted those who worked along side us. Does anyone remember the tsunami wrestler in his y fronts prancing round the room on nightshift? havent seen many of the old fellows for ages but Im sure if I bumped into them on the street it would be just like yesterday. And by the way I dont think the Graphic Arts Club exists anymore.
Hahaha oh yeah I had forgotten about the wrestler. That was hilarious. I only spoke with him a short time back when I was riding down that way and had reason to call for an ambulance. Yep they were top days alright.
Poor lost souls,
Tsunami Wrestler; who was this chap?
Long live the Graphics Arts Club amnd mateship.
P.A.P.
"Further to Newsletters (108/2008; 111/2008; 116/2008; 118/2008; and 119/2008), the most recent Newsletter, contained a detailed description of the 12.15% offer, and 2.5% for Ambulance"
I am confused. Did we get 3.9% like everyone else or 2.5%? I mean 2.5% come on and why do we miss out and don't tell me it has anything to do with our wage case that keeps getting drawn out and which is a whole seperate issue.
Since the wrestler is still in the job I won't out him here but PAP send me an email offlist to my work address and I will tell all.
Oh the good old days .... oh the cold coffee... oohhh the wrestler ??? oh how good the mates were back then ??????
Have you guys any idea whats happening at the moment ?? because while you are reminising about the good old days, the biggest bully of all is waiting at the school gate to give you a pounding you will nwver forget !!! yep thats right... bend over and get lubbed up because when the IRC hands down their decesion, their is not going back ! .. no protesting ...! no apeal process !! and no disagreeing with what has been ordered !!!!
And when you turn around and expect to see you mate the HSU backing you up ... all you are going to see is them floundering and turning away once again.
Sad ... when all we have to do is just for 24 hours .. refuse to take anyone out of ANY hospital... and we could have everything we want !
Thats right... just that would bring them to thier knees... why have the HSU not organised this ???? why indeed ???
Have you guys any idea whats happening at the moment ??
Derr no what is happening. Mate I have been campaigning for a total walk off for years but we are just too piss weak to do it. I totally agree with ya. Things have gone very quiet and we are still waiting to hear what the outcome with the minister was. Anyway there is nothing wrong with a couple of old blokes dreaming about how good it used to be. We are the lucky ones old son/daughter. I can remember saying to people I worked with in the past to remember these days as they are the good old days and they were. We knew we had it good. We worked just as hard as we do today, ok maybe a little more downtime and we were always after more staff and more money. Some things never change. Some of us did walk off the job once. We stormed McKell Building (Rick the Frog was there) which used to be the HQ for Health in Sydney and demanded more staff. It was funny to see the look on the Metro Supers face when I handed over the board to him and he got hit with 3 cas's at the same time. He looked up and asked me to tell him before I walked what cars to put on them. I told him we didn't have any more cars left and that was why we were walking. He just nodded his head and said now I understand. It is easy to get on here and have a whinge and if it makes you feel better than good for you but what are YOU doing about it. Don't come on here and slag everyone else if you aren't prepared to tell us what you are doing about it. The reason you are doing as well as you are is because of the old blokes that have gone before you and before me as well.
The reason why the HSU haven't organised it is because they ARE the government. Williamson is in their band. You let those ambo's get out of hand and you won't have a job anymore. Yes boss sir Mr Yemma. Ok we leave the HSU and then what? That will show them. If they won't go out for us we will leave and then we can all get together and walk off together. Nah that aint going to happen because you have snivelling aresholes in this job who think that when they get in the shit and many of you do the HSU will be there to bale you out and they won't. They will wipe you as soon as look at you. Most of you are too concerned about making more money than the bloke/blokette sitting in the car beside you to actually do something about it. You don't trust him/her and you are just CYAing all day and all night. As long as you drag out a late meal or get one more call off than your compatriots on the station you feel you are doing ok. I know the games some people play when the group certificates come out. How much did you get, oh how come you got more than me. Most days I am ashamed to be in the same organisation as most of you.
Mate I agree with ya to a point but I am ot ashamed of anyone in this bloody job. The job is hard these days. Being stuck at hospitals half the day is a right PIA and there is a ton more stuff to remember now than ever before and if you are a 3C you get $0 for doing what a Level 4 and 5 get paid a reasonable amount of money to do. It is no wonder people are annoyed. No anyone doing this job has my admiration. No argument there from me.
Dear All
It was a SUMO wrestler and it got me a trip upstairs to have Jack hawkins tell me that I should keep my clothes on while at work. But all should know that psycho has all the goods on me. Who the fuck is Mr. Cheeseman?
Hehehe hey ya mate. Yeah I knew it was a Sumo I was just trying to keep a lid on it. I didn't know Hollywood fronted you over it. That was a classic. Oh yeah and also that nice Superintendent badge they gave you that time. Hope you still have it. Hahaha. Your secrets and identity are safe with me mate. Hope you are doing ok.It was great talking to ya that day down south. Mr Cheeseman was the Bi
Centenary gift to the Ambulance Service Just ask him. Hahaha.
Hehehe hey ya mate. Yeah I knew it was a Sumo I was just trying to keep a lid on it. I didn't know Hollywood fronted you over it. That was a classic. Not long now before the HSU members get awake up call in the form of a kick in the guts from the IRC.
Booney
I can't wait till we work 12 hour days.
That means I get to drive around town with my lights flashing for longer and more people get to see me.
Because I am not married and have no mortgage I guess the pay rise doesn't really bother me.
I would be happy with the IRC giving me another 4%.
Its still more money then my previuos employment (students don't get paid much)even without meal penalties.
I will make up for it in overtime anyway as most other ambo's won't be able to meet their financial obligations, putting stress on their marriage which will end in divorce, then depression (more days off work, more OT for me)
Then you will eventually just slash up or live on the street.
New Recruit
Oh new recruit !
You are the managers wet dream.... if only those that had been doing the hard yards now for 20 or 30 years could think like you !!!
Sack the CEO ??? I think NOT ... how about sacking Michael Williams ??? he has done nothing !
New Recruit when you get hair on your bits and become a real ambo you will make even more money. How does it feel to know that that senior ambo beside you gets a shitload more money than you for doing the same job, You are soaked behind the ears. If you are so new you still have to do that one big job that is going to do your head in. Wish I could be there to see it. I love seeing cocky bastards ingest their first kiddy brain into their mouth or realise that that isn't peanut butter you are licking off your fingers but grannies turds. Most senior ambo;s I know paid their mortgages off years ago and have half a mill in super just waiting to be paid to them unlike your kind who better start saving that overtime right now because when you retire from some other job (you won't last in this one none of you new people ever do) you are going to need it.
New recruit are you in for a shock. You might think you are doing ok now but in 12 months time they are probably going to send you to some long forgotten 2 bit town where you will be lucky to do 1 job a month let along earn any overtime you poor sucker. From there you will be long forgotten but will eventually get back to Sydney where you will know nothing be a total jackass to evryone around you and then leave in disgrace. Hahahaha. Mate you are doomed.
Yes new recruit you should have stuck to being a student life for the next 5 years would have been much better for you, now you are stuck in the system and there is no escaping. I was a new recruit just 2 years ago and anon is right when he says you are doomed to be stuck out in the scrub forever earnng les than the local milkman. How does the ambulance employ someone like you? is there no screening doen anymore?>
That message from "new recruit" is too ridiculous to be taken seriously. What a total load of crap!!!! He is obviously an HSU delegate who is worried about the shite he is going to cop from his workmates when the IRC wage decision is announced.
Wakeup dickheads.
New recruit is not one but the majority of our workforce.
That is why we will never take any ballsy action.
That is why when the IRC and the HSU screws us all you will hear is fucking whinging and no action.
Take a good look around.
How many new recruit types on your station?
The ones with no financial committments to meet.
The ones that can't wait to clear so they can drive like a fucking lunatic to a back pain because it came down as a 1c with our faultless pro Q A.
Take a look around,
Scary isn't it!
Poor lost souls,
New recruits are our future - remember we were new once too.
Psycho - If the "The Tsunami Wrestler" had done this these days with Rochford and his band of "men hating hairy legged hyenas" at the corrupt and inept PSU, a full six month inverstigation would have ensued WHILE he was on suspension.
Hollywood Jack, although far from perfect, showed common and great compassion to his troops.
He would have forgotten about this incident as soon as he spoke to the Tsunami Wrestler and non of this would have been recorded anywhere especially not on his personal file.
If anything he would have had a chuckle to marksy about it.
He would go out for a beer with the Summer Hill boys and if he couldn't make it - then he would put money on the table for them to have a drink on him.
Leadership is about common sense and about using your resources fairly. Its not about being "procedure bound" and tying good people up on bullshit investigations that costs money and depletes morale.
I won't send you an internal e-mail 'cause you hate me.
P.A.P.
WE ARE SCREWED
D. Ravlich
PAP I have many stories about those Summer Hill days that will have to wait for the book hehe., Why do I hate you? Gee even I don't hold a grudge that long do I?
Poor lost Souls
WE ARE SCREWED

yep still only dickheads blogging on here.
Except me of course.
What a bunch of fucking idiots you all are. Complaining and not doing.
Fuck off I dont want you gutless fucks in my job.
if your going to just get pissed at people on here maybe you should just fuck off. what the hell are you doing about the situation?
Everybody is complaining but it is always what are YOU doing about it. You all sound like my missus. It is always up to me to do something about everything. blah blah as nauseum.
truth teller you would have more credibility if you used your real name or are you just too scared to get into trouble. You want to abuse everyone with an anon. Very brave my friend very brave.
Poor lost Souls
Decision to be handed down this week
WE ARE SCREWED
P.A.P
We are not screwed. We still have a job and a wage equal to or better than most people. But after only getting 2.5% when the rest of health got 3.9% if we don't get something decent for all this P1 shit that has been forced on us I can assure you I will NOT be doing anymore upgrades and I WILL be telling the union to stick thir $42a month (I will be anyway) and give myself a raise right away
Your full of shit
You will do nothing but whinge
Fucken Wanker
Kiethy
Your the wanker. You can't even spell your own name Keefy
Hey keithy what are you planning on doing?
Still throwing stones at each other i see !!!
Look .... it is not your mate or the buddy you work alongside who has got you into this mess !! If you want to get mad at someone... then get mad with Michael Williamson and the HSU !!!!!!!
These are the fuckers you should be angry at... taking your money every month and giving it to the NSW labour party ! and doing absolutely nothing for you .... hey, i can go one better.... how about you get angry at yourself for being so stupid as to keep giving your hard earned money to them ????? who knows if you get angry enough, you may even get the balls to phone the pay office and cancel your contributions each month ! but dont bother writing to the HSU telling them why you did, because they just ignore you !
Yes I was lucky enought to have caught the tailend of the good ol days. It was fun, a barrel of laughs until it NEEDED to be serious when the serious switch was flicked. No frustration as we mercilessly took the piss out of the "Ill & Infirm" (So you know much about gardening do yo luv???) - what better defusing is there?
We looked after each other & treated the dickheads(Doug Bell, Mick Bray, Pete Cherry, Terry Hartley et al) with scorn. Yep it was all rosy until......
We started to take ourselves seriously. When the "professional" monniker raised its ugly head. All this did was give currency to the dickheads who didnt really deserve it.
Like Darwin said, there is a natural order & some of these dwellers @ the shallow end of the gene poll, by moving to positions of power have upset the natural order of things.
Yeah I miss the old days like I miss sleep. But @ least us "dinosaurs" we can wrap ourselves in the blanket of the warm memories of fun & comeraderie we have..... its nothing but cold comfort for this new lot...
Poor Lost Souls
Remember that time old butter balls greased up the DOCO's phone with his bum cleft.
These young blokes now days don't know what fun is.
Hey Smoker, how about when we had to break up that turd you laid at Quay street with the Super's ruler so it would go down the S bend.
Blah Blah Fucken BLAH.
Williamson is a Wanker with his own agenda.
Most Ambo's just whinge and do nothing.
HSU has no idea what they are doing,to many delegates with their own agendas.
We are SCREWED
P.A.P
Hey Bi-Ci-Guy that is the one and only thing I will take from this job the good mates like yourself. It has been what 12 years since we have seen each other in the flesh and yet I know if you win the big Lotto next week you will pay off my house for me and allow me to retire from this miserable lot and I you.
Tommy - you got it right. Quid Pro Quo my friend! You know its amazing how far ahead of the curve we were back then. I believe we were the first crew to institutte the "ride along" weren't we? Poor Tommy left under a tree in the rain.....Yeah try doing that now.... hehehehehehehe
Bi Ce G young Tommy still talks about that. He recently had a bout of cancer but seems to be doing ok now. Remember who came to that job "ow are you today young fella' hehehe. If I recall you were having all sorts of trouble with your garden. Did you ever get it sorted. Did you rid of yourself of that eveil gigantic slug of yours?
Why can't we do something like this??
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=yOdufaQ0Jl8
Not long now before you hear how well the HSU has screwed you all again !!!
I can already hear the delegates excuses..... Oh .. But not enough people come to the meetings ??? what about online voting you idiots ??? The only reason you will never see that, is because Williamson knows that he will have to come clean and actually do something when the majority of members tell him start working for them not his own ambitions !! ... and he is not likely to want to piss off his government buddies !
The 18th will be known as:
MASS WHINGE MONDAY
Are you ready to have a sook and do nothing else?
Typical Ambo
How could I forget???...(your a part of the furniture here young man!!)Glad young Tommy is on the mend mate...
The Slug??!!??? Well they arent quite as large any more anymore, but by jingo's - still evil & still spits & froths like the billio!!!! Some things you can just never get under control can you?
Oh by the way, hows that cousin of yours? You know...the girl from the country. Did she ever recover from that nasty nasty accident with the axe? I often wonder about her.....
Biceguy my cuz finally recovered from where that pig got her but ended up with a massive big scar the likes you have never seen. Well maybe you have. I still wake up in cold sweats over that one you showed me that time in the back of TWENTY!!! at that place at Lakembla you know the place of wormit. Holy cow wasn't that a work of art!
Not long to go now before we know the result of our wage case. To all the delegates who have worked hard you know left rosters short and had their paid for junkets in Sydney to allow us to be recognised and paid accordingly I thank you. I can't wait to see what they come up with after all this time. I have a funny feeling there is going to be mass resignations from the union by Tuesday morning.
Marty !!! If i were a betting man, id have a dollar or two on your prediction........ hell rumor has it that over 500 now have already left in the last 5 months !
Hey,.....Happy Thingo Kids!!!
Hey Blue Eyes how's the rug going? Briggsy says to say hi.
Hi Kath.
I was talking to briggsy the other day.
He reckons your a Fuckwit!
Love what you've done with your hair.
Keep in touch.
Still throwing stones at each other i see !!!

Wage Case.
has anyone heard what the IRC handed down today or has it been delayed yet again
yes its been put back again, this will go on for many more yrs !!!!!!!!!!
I cannot for the life of me why this has gone on for so long. Why do you ambos allow this to go for so long. Are you all paid so well you dont have to fight for a pay rise like the police nurses fireries?
I might join,it seems like you guys are paid so well.
so who the fuck are you and why would you waste your time on a blog that has nothing to do with you. what a wanker. go get a life.
Just 24 hrs of refusing to take ANY patient out of ALL hospitals is all it would take..... and you would have your money by the end of the week !
I know that !!!!
The HSU know that !!!!
and the management know that !!!!
Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to Bangor.
A beautiful day we had lunch on the way and all for under a Pound you know.
And on the way back I cuddled with jack as we opened a bottle of Cyder, singing a few of our favourite songs as the wheels went round.
Any day now ...! and you are all going to know who the HSU really are. You will see nothing... after all this time and all your hard earned cash !!!!
You will get nothing.... and you ( as the hsu.. aka the management ) already know.... YOU WILL DO NOTHING !
what a bunch of retards you all are!
Truth teller,
Do you remember that day we both got caught in Quay Street measuring our penises.
Your still not bitter are you?
Not long now and you are going to hear all the HSU reps whining about how there was nothing we could do !!!
Well here's plan "B" ..... Nobody leaves a hospital till we get what we are owed !!!! how about that ???
I still don't know how we had bans on one minute demanding the CEO gone and then nothing, CEO still here, nothing has fucking changed, Typical pointless fucken HSU Sham.
why dont you all look at your delegates.arnt they the ones that are supposed to be sending the message back to the HSU?
Just because they do this job for free, doesnt mean they dont have a vested interest in doing good for the svc and the government.e.g
Jim Arnerman.!!!!!!
I rest my case.

They don't do 'this job' for free. The delegates get paid for what they do.
Hey BiCeGuy I have asked the same thing since we were to meet the minister but nobody is talking. Then again she may have been too busy kicking back with her new fulla out on the piss instead. Can anyone tell us, do we still hate the CEO or is he a good bloke again. Do we want more money or do we just want more staff so Williamson can get more union fees? I hear the wage case hearing is still underway. No more upgrades for this bloke until they start paying me for them.
God ! ... I cant believe how many ambo's are still waiting for the the bloody tooth fairy ?
When are you guys going to wake up and smell the roses. A long time ago when the UNION (HAREA) as it was known then first set up shop, they represented ambos real concerns... and many good people were willing to fight.... and did !!
The Service.... knowing that managemnet is all about "CONTROL" made a very smart move and suddenly all the senior people ie. area managers as they were called back then and the D.O. s bacame union members ! They didnt do this because they wanted to help the baggy arsed ambo get a fair go you idiots !! they did it because of the threat that any large body of people with an independent will and a desire to take action.. pose to any large organisation !
Should any of you stragegists out there care to remember the first basic rule of war..., you will remember it is (( KNOW THY ENEMY ! )) and what better way to do this, than become part of the ememy, and you all wonder why we cant get anything done.... Can you imagine how much easier it is to manage a difficult person or group of people through hard econmomic price cutting times when you know that you are holding the strings from both ends ???
The HSU has no interest in AMBO's... it never has... why else do you think they have introduced shopping discount brochures... cheep holidays and bonuses for delegates who sign up new members ??? Really ..., its to distract you from the ugly truth that you are being fooled by a group of people much smarter than you !!!
Oh ! and if you dare espouse this very fact in public, ... their first war cry will be that you are a conspiracy theorist ....!
Of course they will... with all the inactivity and failed action over the last few years, what else can they do to protect their anonymity ?
Over the years, I have seen it all.... delegate after delegate getting long service leave when others could not, getting senior positions and postings at preffered stations and even being let off the hook when they have screwed up royaly.
You guys need to wake up... drop these snake charmers and employ a hard hitting employee relations lawyer to represent you. Fair enough, they might not offer the cheap shopper dockets and weekends away that the HSU do but they will be focused on the core business of getting you a fair go !!!!! something the HSU has never have.
( 24 hours when NOBODY ! leaves a hospital in Sydney is all you need and you will have these mongrels at the negotiating table with an open check book !!!! ).
P.s. if were noy true... then why with all our email addresses at their finger tips would they not be asking us what we want ?? and what we are prepared to do ???
Hey truth teller...
The only retards here are people like yourself that WILL STILL pay there HSU fees even after they have been fucked over well and good. Grow a brain dipshit.
Hey BiCiGuy! how long u been working for the finest Ambulance Service on the Planet? I seem to think we may have crossed paths in the Big Smoke......
Hey Kids....Rug??!!???? What the fuck do you mean a rug?????
I feel like vomiting. What the fuck is going on with pay and conditions? Apparently out d and d is an absolute joke that will never be honoured. How the hell can they pull this shit off. Why was the paper strikes called off and yes. I am also out of the union and will retain outside assistance if needed. Service and union an absolute joke and we have no one to blame but oursleves. I need a drink. More sickies and work the system. Had a gut full!
The rug on ya head Blue eyes or Rick with the silent P Hamilton hahahaha or did you get sick of people calling you a wanker behind your back. Guess what? They still do.
Yes the D&D IS a joke. They will take our money but unless you get your legs chopped off they will never pay you out. They have a clause in there that says they will pay if you can't do the job you are trained or educated for and when it comes to insurance companies that could mean selling ice creams if you have ever been educated in how to do that. Whoever let that one through needs to be oh hang on it was the union wasn't it?
Ice Creams without cones???
Yeah Mark..Ice Creams without Cones..they do exist...Campsie Plant Room Circa 1991..Drumstick in a BOWL!!!!...I'm still getting over it..ok...
You know with all this talk about the Award & the D&D - sacking Mr Rochford & the Rescue being given to our Brother Firemen, I think we've lost sight of a few things.....How about looking after the old blokes ....you know, the real legends of the service, the quiet, unassuming heroes who have selflessly given their all to the Service & the Community & you know..not got that much in return. Like the Course 1 Frogs & original SCAT guys... There really should be some kind of special bonus retirement fund set up in the award for blokes like them........so...whose with me??
I dont know who you are - Jeff - but mate I love you & support what you ar trying to do. Jeff (if thats your real name) I'm with you all the way....
Look I totally agree with you Jeff. Those guys were the pioneers of the service as far as I am concerned. Before that it was the old pick em up and drive as fast to hospital as we could go. I look up to those guys. It must have been a big step to do the Paramedic course in 1976. So much study and I am sure those guys were and are friends for life. I would love to see an extra something put into their pay packets at the end of the day for them.
( 24 hours when NOBODY ! leaves a single hospital in Sydney is all you need and you will have these mongrels at the negotiating table with an open check book !!!! ).
Can you imagine it ?? nobody moving from the wards... emergency packed to the rafters with nowhere to put anybody... all art crews deployed and the entire ambulance fleet outside the hospitals loaded and going nowhere !!!
HOW LONG DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD LET THAT GO ON BEFORE THEY HAD A LITTLE THINK ABOUT OUR CLAIM ????
That sounds like a bloody good idea - name a date on this site and gather all our brothers to stand up - if the hospitals are blocked -no-one in or out - it wont take long at all for the dark suits and ties to wet themselves.

I'm a SCAT Lover.
Opps sorry wrong site!
Or is it?
Hahaha bloody priceless for the firm to name their supposed elite ambo's oops sorry paramedics after a sexual act that involves shitting on another person. Pretty accurate if you ask me.
Say Kezza......how did you like SCAT, when you were in it.....?
Hey anonymous,
Stop taking patients from hospitals?
Your an idiot! How many people do you actually think get on this site?
About 20 I reckon. I know of one bloke who bloggs under about 15 different names.
Good luck though. You seem like the sort of gutless fuck who loads the gun but doesnt have the guts to fire the gun.
Hey Brett,
There are plenty of gutless fucks on this site.
They fucking whinge but dont get thier hands dirty.
I do not have 15 different names I have about 30!
Different Kerry T I am afraid. I have never been a SCAT man and in fact last time I looked I was a woman.
This blogg has as much creditbility as gary glitter as a pre-school teacher.
Most of you obviously are wankers.
I must agree with brett webb
Brett webb !!
You sound like a very angry disturbed (HSU) young man !! next I suppose you are going to tell me that almost 500 people have NOT already left the HSU ( sorry mate... I know someone who works in the office !!! its FACT ! )
You sound to me like the guttless fuck you are talking about... one of those who hides behind others pretending to represent the massess when actually the only thing you give a fuck about is yourself !!!
and if you think this wont happen... just wait till they all here about losing late meals and call offs and getting nothing in return ??
Go cry somewhere else you moron !
Major Wage Case Update
"One and all
The week of further modified arbitral proceedings have concluded this afternoon, after five pretty demanding days. The Full Bench will further meet with the parties in early September in relation to any further and final clarification required arising from deliberations etc but it can be confidently predicted that in the first half of September the Full Bench will hand down its decision - which will find its precise manifestation in new awards to be made at that time.
My thanks to everyone’s perseverance and persistence in this matter, and will be in touch again shortly when the timetable is confirmed and the obvious meetings needed to occur to discuss outcomes etc.
My special thanks to Bob Morgan - who has managed to ensure that I remain rational and sane throughout this entire process (or for most of it anyway!)
In touch again soon
Dennis
Hey Mr Anonymous,
Lots of anger in your spineless reply?
Dont like it when people disagree with you?
Its amazing that people on this blogg get so agitated when others have differing opinions.
Lots of insecure officers?
Sorry I missed your name Mr or Mrs Anonymous, and you call me gutless and hiding behind others.
Trust me I am out fighting for your wages and conditions.
Sorry if I dont loose sleep over your opinion.
Have a good day!
Dear Dennis,
The work that you, Bob and HSU have been putting in is appreciated.
I dont think the opinions of 20 negative nellies on this blogg really matter.
Thanks again
yep still only gutless anonymous fucks on this site.
What a joke it is!
Hey Brett.... if you think that only 15 people blogg on this site then you are the idiot !
Anonymous was only offering a solution that the HSU should have taken and ran with a long time ago... whats your solution ??? let me guess another paper work ban ?? HA... dont bag others unless you have something to offer yourself ?
Hey Anonymous (there are so many of you),
I know one thing this site has done sweet F A to address any issues.
As noone outs there names to there revolutionary ideas.
You have a workforce that mostly has less then 5 years service, in a labor short market.
That means they will not participate in radical industrial action as leaving patients in hospital. I have a degree in Industrial Relations and this is not a new theory or concept.
Young labor forces traditionally only worry about themselves.
So when you have any idea about what your talking about, maybe Ill listen.
So where are your ideas numbnuts?
anonymous,
your bagging brett. and around it goes!
Nigel is right this blogg has past its used by date and is a lame duck!
Brett ! Oh.. I am so impressed with the fact that you have a degree !!!
But unfortunately ACTIONS speak louder than any words or degree's... The IRC have just handed down thier decision and it is ( 2 x 20 crib breaks, 12 hour shifts and 8% !!! yes thats right ... 8 percent.... so what has all your so called fighting done for anyone ??? come on ..?? we are going to be working a lot harder and earning a lot less money.. !!!! so whats your plan now mr Big industrial relations expert ??
P.s. And how do you know what the members will or will not do !!!! have you asked them.... the HSU has everyones email address .... lets ask them... and publish the results on this website... do that and i will shut up ! come on lets find out once and for all what people really think and what they are prepared to do !! there... i thought of that all without a degree in industrial relations !
I tell you what fucked this job from someone who has been a round a while. Women and people with degrees. They should have done thier very best to keep both out of this job and we would have been so much better off. People like Kevin Williams and John Walton were right. Combine a woman with a degree and you have fucking chaos. This job has been going down hill for over a decade and now is at it's lowest. Oh and wasn't it so nice of Roachford to just suddenly drop into Cowra and lend support for the poor ambo's there after all the shit they have copped. Pity he wasn't there when it counted. Who says the IRC has handed down it's decision? It is still on going if you read Dennis blurb and he should know since he is there. I agree that we just need to take nobody OUT of a hospital. Take them in but don't remove them. Whoever came up with that idea is bloodywell spot on. Another thing that is missing from this job now is mateship. Something the young ones know nothing about becaase they are alwasy having to look over their shoulder to see if anyone is about to slip the knife in. We should take a leaf out of our brothers in the US and stick together. Make it a punsihable offence to put shit on another officer.Of course I am only talking male officers here.
August 26, 2008 3:14 PM
Sorry mate... but disagree with what you say about women. We dont need to go there.
Dear woman and degree hating anonmyous,
God now I have heard it all !
So Kevin and John were right were they? Kevie lived with his mommy and Waldo was a queer so THEY would know.
I wont even bother to get into a bun fight about women in the Service suffice to say I have worked with girls on and off for 20 years and they are among the best Ambos in the business.
And as for the poor little diddims at Cowra, personally I'd shoot the fucking lot of them for what they did to Chrisrine. Or didn't do because they were too gutless to speak up and stop the bullying and harrassment.
And good old Greg turning up and giving "support" jusy like the mindless woman hater he is. Support?? Sack the lot and then sack himself.
What kind of message is he putting out, that's it's ok to harrass a woman to death.
Man does he ever have to go and he can take those mindless clones of his from PSCU with him.
The only thing I agree with you on is that the Service is the worst it has ever been.
Now fuck off and throw darts at your girlfriend's picture.
The IRC has handed its decision down but has not released yet fuckhead! I do know the decision and its not what your saying it is. So you will eat your words in septemeber fuckhead.
if u know what the decision is please share.. where's the fucking love in here people?
Hahahaha well that worked. Got to see if there were a few more people out there. Shame you have a thing against people who live and look after their elderly mothers and gays. I have 2 degrees and married a female ambo. I currently work with one of the best officers in the job and she just happens to be female. But the bait got taken big time. What a laugh you all are.
You didn't fool me.
I did the same thing when I posted as New Recruit.
But the scary thing is Brett Webb is right, people in this job less than 5 years are not going to take any staunch action, they still think everything is rosey.
I am sorry to say we are screwed.
Thanks P.A.P,
Unfortunately there are alot of naive officers around.
I spoke with a level 2 officer the other day (he is a nice bloke although misguided) he thinks negotiation is the only way forward. He doesnt want industrial action.
How can you get support for leaving patients in hospital when a large percentage of the service thinks like this.
For the people bagging my qualifications. I have been an industrial officer for many unions, and I am not a member of the HSU. But I will be soon. You are just ill informed and the sad thing is you dont want to be educated.
You just want to get angry and bitch. get off your arses and get involved.
Brett !
O.K. ... sorry if it seemed like I was bagging your qualifications.. I respect the fact that you are educated.. so am I. But ... i am tired of the same old shit over and over again and cannot see why if the HSU really want what is best for us and are really trying to get us the best deal possible then why... with all our email addresses dont they email us all with "confirm reply" tags asking us just two questions 1) Are you happy with our approach to these matters and 2) would you be prepared to take strong action if necessary ? and then publish the results on their website.
Brett ... i completed an HSU questionare a couple of years ago from the HSU asking similar qn's .. I was in a room of eight other people.. and ALL of them without exception told them a very distinct (( NO )) !! but the results were never published. Mate, I have also been to countless HSU meetings to show my support for several issues in question only to find out that the vote had already been cast ??
I am a union man through and through.. and i am that because i believe in the cause of sticking together and helping those who whould otherwise not be heard... but the HSU is not listening. I, by the way was at a hospital in the west the other day in the usual trolly block with about 20 other ambos and they were livid with the lack of action on behalf of the HSU on days like APEC and world youth day when we really could have made an impact.
I respect the fact that many people have put in a lot of effort, but we need to be smart about this.... communication is power... and the HSU have that.. WHY.. dont they use that for polling the members ??? I believe rightly or wrongly that the reason they do not do such a simple thing is because they are not only scared of the response they might get, but that they are not interested !
I really do appreciate your educated view on these issues, but think that we really need to use that email system to gauge the support out there dont you. P.s. I have written to and phoned Michael Willaimson but he doesn't want a bar of it... now why do you think that is ???
P.s. with regards to putting your name to things here, the only reason I and many others wont is because they fear retribution from the bullying managemnet system we currently have in place and have no faith in a corrupt union to protect them.
P.s. look forward to your (not angry i hope) answer.
Dear Degree and women hater (not really),
You still haven't explained that stuff at Cowra you wrote about, which is the reason I replied.
As for having anything against gays and men in their 60's who have never left home, well they really aren't the ones to ask about women now are they??
So now you know that there are at least 2 people on this blog.
Since you have 2, count them, 2 degrees maybe you can be our strategy expert for when everyone finds out just how badly the IRC screwed us over.
Over to you ace...
Read it again anon number 223 I was being sarcastic and for those that know me they would say I am never like that. No I am with you when it comes to Cowra and if you read it again I said pity he wasn't there when it counted. I just thought it was all warm and fuzzy seeing him on the cover of Sirens with the Cowra mob and it was written like he just happened to call in for support but lets not forget that most of the current Cowra mob weren't there during the shit that went down with Christine. Yes I agree the ones involved should have been sacked and the CEO and his understudy gone as well over their lack of action. And regardless of whether Williams was a mummy's boy or Waldo a poof they were great bosses who stuck up for their staff when the chips were down not like the back stabbing yes men we have today.
here here!
well said old chap!
I hope come mid September, when we get our shit decision by the IRC, we stick together. IE rolling sickies and the like. Just pass the word to fellow work mate's. We are having the day off. That will be a good start. Don't forget we are the good guys and all we get is shit heaped on us and crap pay and crap conditions! Stick together and we will get what we want and deserve.
The rumor mill is on fire at the moment. What we are gearing is that the HSU got pretty much nothing they asked for and Ambulance (fuck i hate the way they say that these days) got everything they asked for so I can only imagine if it is true that ambulance would have wanted us screwed sideways. Why do we have to wait until September. Are there any delegates here that know anything.
All out gang! No more talking. Grab your partner and have a sickie! Off station for meals. Can't wait to see if we stick it to them. All it will take is a couple of all out sickies and the madness will strike home. Lets do it!
PTO vehicle responding on a Casaulty call again today on the Central Coast.
This is Despite the Minister for Health stating we are adequately resourced and it being against Service Policy.
Thats right, these Fuckers break their own policies when it suits them, but come down on you for and breaches.
Hypocritical Fucks,
and what do you think the HSU will do about it?
C'mon BRETT WEB ! ... You seemed to have a lot to say to anonymous early on in this blog, but why dont you answer their question ???
Namely ........
The HSU have the communication tools in the form of our email addresses, WHY.. dont they use that for polling the members ??? I believe rightly or wrongly that the reason they do not do such a simple thing is because they are not only scared of the response they might get, but that they are not interested !
we really need to use that email system to gauge the support out there. I have written to and phoned Michael Willaimson but he doesn't want a bar of it... now why do you think that is ???
I to, am interested to hear the opinion of an educated man with a degree in employee relations on this matter !!!
Sydney car Responded to confirmed Code 9 at Avoca Beach today while the Dedicated Rescue Unit was sent out of the Area for a Medical and was waiting on scene for over 50 minutes for a car to back them up.
But Reba and Greg assure us that we are adequately resourced.
has anyone forwarded the info onto the central coast lacal rags so it can make front page 2 weeks running?
Hey why dont you give the info the the union ? OH wait a minute... they are probably out having luch with the management HA HA HA ... !
hey for the last comment. suck on shit you arse kissing mother fucker. Go fuck yourself!
Think its time to walk come September decision fellow ambo's. Sounds like some one is privy to inside information and if that is the case, we are heading for a shit decisions by the IRC! So spread the word and be ready to take immediate action! The least paper work bans. We have the power if we stick together and we are the good guys but so far that has got us know where!
How disappointing the majority of comments by bloggers have become. I continue reading because there are a few out there that have something constructive to say.
As for the IRC decision there have been a few rumours flying around. The latest I've heard is a salary offering of $72,000 for qualified paramedics, I'm assuming that would be a composite wage and obviously some other restrictions on call outs and accruing overtime. I have no problem with a composite wage as long as the salary works out averaging what we would normally get with working weekends and plus there's always the advantage of increased superannuation contributions, as well a higher midweek wage so more money for overtime and callouts/offs.
As for industrial action I think it needs to be explored and really talked about on here because you and I both know that that above rumour is probably bullshit and the offer we do get is not going to be good enough.
What do you all think?
btw new submissions have been posted on the parliamentary inquiry website.
All the best
Googs
I am a country ambo who works a 7 day roster with on call every night. I work a lot of overtime and I am not the one who rings the ambulance so any composite wage better reflect what I get paid normally. I won't be tied to my home every night and being called out several times a night in the process waking my family as well while the dispatcher wants to have a chat so someone sitting at a desk job in Sydney can have a similar wage to mine.

Reading some more submissions tonight I can't see how an enquiry into management of the ambulance circus has turned into a save rescue bid. And why would some bloody firey even bother to write in and say how much better they are at rescue than us and they should have it. Message to fireman. We don't care about your opinion. I am a rescue guy and once a rescue officer always one but who gives a shit what their opinion is in the enquiry.

Obviously a hard working delegate or union man or woman. Yes probably a woman actually. Some of the ones I work with swear worse than the men. LOL.
Ambulance Rescue
Official...Gone...As of Thursday at 0800...finished forever....Ambulance has no interest in history or who has gone before them...only $$$$ss.
Thats right I have shit canned Rescue as from thursday.
What are you tickerless bunch going to do about it?
The reason for the timing is that it will cast a wedge into the HSU, and when the IRC hands down their decision early next week you will be to busy fighting amongst each other, which means I win again.
thats right whats next that they are going to take away.there wont be a svc left the way Gregs going.maybe he wants to be the hero himself, and do all the jobs on the road!
well now the rescues gone, you will all have to stick together for the meal penaltys.this will now effect all of us.
what next.
I agree with abolishing ambulance rescue. I believe the NSW Fire brigade are better equipped and trained. Leave the treating to ambos and the rescuing to firies.
I was disgusted to read the entries submitted by rescue officers for the parliamentary inquiry that 'suddenly' appeared following the publishing of the graeme head report recommending abolishing ambulance rescue. All rescue officers seem to be interested in doing is saving their own under utilised and trained arses.
No rescue = more crews on road....bring it on!
alittle more notice would of been nice, about rescue.I need to get a new uniform, and i wont have one by thursday.
well what is the HSU going to do now?one wonders, but not to far I guess, because as a leopard never changes its spots nor does the HSU.
we have just been screwed and I bet they knew about this aweek ago.

NSW government scraps Ambulance Rescue Service via SMS
30 minutes ago. | Richard Maxton
Dozens of the state's finest paramedics will be out of a job on Thursday, with the Ambulance Rescue Service to be scrapped.
The move was touted after a review into emergency services but now means already stretched fire crews will now have to take on extra workloads, especially at car crashes.
Paramedic 'Bill' has told 2GB's Murray Wilton they were told of the news by SMS and there won't be enough resources for fire crews to cope.
"We're all trained paramedics on the rescue truck."
"We're also vertically accredited so if you're trapped in a difficult situation, on a cliff or whatnot, we attend those scenes as well.
"We're also swift water accredited. We're the most highly trained rescue organisation in the state basically."

NSW government scraps Ambulance Rescue Service via SMS

* 'As of 8am Thursday our jobs will cease to exist': Rescue Operator 'Bill'
Dozens of the state's finest paramedics will be out of a job on Thursday, with the Ambulance Rescue Service to be scrapped.
The move was touted after a review into emergency services but now means already stretched fire crews will now have to take on extra workloads, especially at car crashes.
Paramedic 'Bill' has told 2GB's Murray Wilton they were told of the news by SMS.
"It (the SMS) basically states as of Thursday morning at 8am Bankstown Rescue, Caringbah Rescue, St Ives Rescue, Point Blair Rescue, Parramatta Rescue, Camden, Woolongong and Newcastle will cease to operate."
He said the Ambulance Rescue Service was specifically trained and there won't be enough resources for the Fire Brigadec to cope if they are disbanded.
"We're all trained paramedics on the rescue truck."
"We're also vertically accredited so if you're trapped in a difficult situation, on a cliff or whatnot, we attend those scenes as well.
"We're also swift water accredited. We're the most highly trained rescue organisation in the state basically."
NSW Health Minister Reba Meagher said in a statement the action was intended to boost frontline Ambulance paramedics.
"The Ambulance Service of NSW is the only one in Australia which maintains a rescue function,” Ms Meagher said.
“In fact, even within NSW the majority of rescue services are already provided by the NSW Fire Brigade and other specialist rescue units.
"So it makes sense for our highly-trained ambulance paramedics to focus on providing the sort of emergency patient care the community expects.”
However Shadow Health Minister Jillian Skinner says those who are left will not want to stay.
"They'd been contacted by their members, when this rumour first started, who were saying they were not going to stay if the Ambulance Rescue units were abandoned.
"So I worry that we'll have even more resignation from a service that is desperate, for lack of staff."

"Already stretched fire crews" GIVE ME A BREAK. Most of them sit around all day watching Foxtel and sleeping all night (sounds like St Ives rescue) Oh well let's hope some of the misguided finally have the balls to see HSU for what it is and leave. There softly softly approach just got us all screwed.
No rescue = more crews on road....bring it on!
Yes moron and that will mean less overtime for you and less call offs and late meals so less money in your pathetic pocket. Ambulance Rescue has a long history being the first rescue squad in the history of rescue. First it will be rescue and then it will be SCAT and then Level 4 and 5 allowances, and then who will be next...This health minister and government will go down in history as the worse this state has ever seen. Hope she enjoys her piss ups with her new boyfriend now 'cause she and the rest of those labor losers will be kicked out next election. Where is the union now. Wasn't it them telling us to vote labor and put posters all over our cars and wear T shirts every Thursday as support for Labor. Come on people where are you all now? Mick Willis should resign immediately if he let this go through without a fight.

Ambulance rescue services scrapped, fireys move in
Article from: The Daily Telegraph
By Simon Benson
September 03, 2008 12:00am
AMBULANCE rescue services will be scrapped from tomorrow and taken over by the NSW Fire Brigade under a plan to free up more than 80 paramedics for new rapid response units to attend clinical emergencies, The Daily Telegraph has learned.
It would mean that ambulance officers will no longer cut crash victims from cars, or rescue them from industrial accidents or confined spaces and would now focus solely on medical emergencies.
The rationalisation of ambulance services, which would include the scrapping of 14 rescue units, was taken to the State Rescue Board last night and is expected to be announced by Health Minister Reba Meagher today.
It will come into effect tomorrow.
That function, which is already performed by the NSWFB and other emergency services, would be transferred entirely to the fire brigade.
The ambulance service is the only ambulance service in Australia that still operates a rescue function - training officers to use hydraulic cutting equipment.
A performance review by the Premier and Cabinet Department's Graeme Head in June recommended that the rescue unit be transferred to the fire brigade as it already performed the same function.
The review revealed that more than 2000 calls for rescue were attended by the ambulance service every year costing more than $12 million and taking up more than 10 per cent of the workload of officers.
The move will be opposed by the Health Services Union which has fought off two bids in the past decade to carve off the rescue operations.
It regards rescue operations as an "icon" function of the service.
There are about 88 ambulance officers trained in rescue operations from a workforce of 3300.
They will be offered transfer to the NSWFB or be offered jobs in new rapid response ambulance vehicles.

Ambulance Rescue Guys coming to the NSWFB.....Pigs Arse...those whinging amateur pricks dont deserve a shot with a finely trained elite group like us.....I'd rather have a baby thru the eye of my penis.
Well done HSU .... ! you have worked well WITH the asnsw management yet again !
Any of you out there still in doubt about whos side the HSU is on need to take a good look at what has just happened !!! the ASNSW did not just do this on their own you know.... they would have had to have the assurance of Michael williamson that he would not participate in any industrial action before hand.
Wake up and admit you have been screwed all these years and drop this bunch of two faced arseholes for what they have let happen !
