Re speed cameras. I got done in one on the way to a serious job in a different town to where I work and was told by my area manager I would be paying the fine. I refused and heard nothing more about it but be aware if they can get you on it they will. Don't think for one second officers aren't being asked to pay their speed camera fines. I know of at least one other who has had to send a letter to defend himself. HSU wiped him on it.
I got asked to pay a fine (speeding) wasn't on a job, returning to station busting for a shit, had the beacons on and everything.
Told them I wasn't paying and that I was happy to tell a judge that I am flogged 14 hours a day with out a chance to crap.
Didn't hear from them after that
well it was good to see HSU take the 2.5%.It was a garanteed,as why would managers lose any of there little goodies.
But today in the syd telegragh,the coppers arent copping it.There good union is asking for double,without any losses,unlike The HSU,who were very happy to roll over and take what was on offer.
The Svc knew no one would take the extra 1.4% and lose conditions,thats why they put those conditions in.
Even though the 1.4% was from 12 months ago,oh thats right they are just holding on to that for some bargening power when they need it,,,,,like when the HSU has no members left !!!!

Did you see that the HSU were down at the IRC again and successfully argued that the current EDL levels in Sydney be maintained with the introduction of the new Special Rapid Responders. The Service was arguing that Sydney drop 5 crews on day and night shift!!!

The Premier has agreed to meet with us at 2:45pm on Monday afternoon to discuss our negotiations. Unions NSW Secretary Mark Lennon will assist us in the discussions.

Mark my words when the history of the NSWAS is re-written it will show that this period and the people running it is absolutely the worse time this svc has ever seen. I remember when we all stuck together no matter what and our bosses would never be in our union and wouldn't want to be. The union supported us and backed us to the hilt. We never gave away anything for a pay rise and fought hard for conditions which are now being eroded. The svc were proud of the fact they gave us 7 weeks pay for 5 weeks holidays and a Christmas bonus which made all of us feel good and want to go out and work a bit harder and you worked your way to Level 5. How can a level 2 put in for a Level 5 course and get it. WTF?? Don't fucking come near me sunshine. We need to stop this business of standing around hospitals all day too. That is not our problem. We need to tell the Health Dept that we aren't doing it anymore and start billing them for our time. We are burnt out from being on our feet all day minding people who more often than not have nothing wrong with them and that if they say they want to go to hospital regardless of their supposed illness we have to take them which culminates in us being offline for hours. It is a fucking joke and the svc has no balls. Fuck the hospitals that is their job to look after the patients not ours. 4% Increase in Wages 19 June 2009
All Permanent and Retained members wages will now increase by 4% along with most but not all allowances. These increase will be delivered to members pay packets despite claims from the Government that public sector Unions had been negotiating a wage freeze for a 12 month period.
Rates of pay for Retained members will be effective from Thursday 18th June and the rates of pay for Permanent members will be effective from Friday 19th June. All members will receive a 4% increase irrespective of rank, position or title. The kilometer rate will also rise to $1.01 per kilometer.
As a direct result of these increases in wages Union dues will also rise by 4% for all members regardless of rank, position or title.
The onus is now on the Department to ensure that these increases in wages - won through a concerted industrial and political campaign are paid to members in a timely and accurate manner.
Full details of the actual rates of pay and allowances can be found on the Unions website and all members are encourages to check and ensure that the correct amount has been forwarded to your personal account.
Firefighters are still not paid sufficiently to compensate the dangers and risks we face in protecting the community. However these rates of pay have continued the trend over the last 15 years whereby our wage increases have on every occasion exceeded the rate of inflation and increased our pay relative to the cost of living.
We all owe a debt of gratitude to the unity and solidarity of all those involved in building a platform from which our Union was able to deliver the largest increase in wages in the NSW public service.

I very much doubt that he is an EMSPA Rlo. Anyone on here can say they are this or that. He must be the only ambo in Sydney who is better off. Everyone I know is worse off financially and rarely gets a break. Fatigue management-Yeah right!!

EMSPA did not and has not ever used a registration method utilisating the services email network.
Quite the opposite... Personal email accounts are always requested and those who supplied work email addresses have NEVER had ANY material sent to them.
It has always been requested that service email should not be used for emspa or pvt confidential business as we all know the service monitors their email system and if one mis uses the network or communicates with anyone or any organisation the service has interest in then they will know.
The union can communicate with their members via this network but dont think for a second the service doesnt monitor what goes on just because union members have access and have a 'right' to such access!
The service will allow whatever communcations it wants so as to gain info... AND to whom it legally has to provide. It will block individuals and organisations it feels threatened by...that's a no brainer.
As for the supposed registration via ASNSW email addresses to verify ones identify of application for emspa and/or employement status, this simply did not happen. I dont know why people seem to think this is how we do business.
Mis-information and propaganda is all this is.... NO ONE has ever been registered via service email and never will.
I care not whether anyone will think this is purely a plug for the new association. The fact is you can continue to blab on with all the crap you want. The fact is things are getting done and we dont have to 'check in' with anyone but OUR members..some of you dummies just dont get it at all...blah blah blah.
